The advancement of drug therapy has undoubtedly elevated patient care standards. However, it has also given rise to an increase in Drug-Related Problems (DRPs), which can significantly disrupt health outcomes. In an 18-month prospective observational study involving 2,000 patients, we meticulously assessed DRPs using the Hepler and Strand classification system. These DRPs encompassed a range of issues, including adverse drug reactions (ADRs), untreated medical indications, non-compliance with prescribed regimens, improper drug selection, and more. Our data collection adhered to a well-validated and pre-tested format. Among 2,000 patients, 106 (5.3%) experienced 117 DRPs, averaging 1.1 per patient. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) accounted for 47.01% of cases, non-compliance 35.89%, and drug use without indication 11.32%. ADR incidence was 2.75%, primarily affecting the Gastrointestinal (GIT) system. Antibiotics were frequently associated with ADRs in various drug classes. Vigilant monitoring, robust reporting mechanisms, and patient education are pivotal strategies in the prevention of drug-related issues. Pharmacovigilance, the systematic monitoring and evaluation of drug safety and efficacy, plays a fundamental role in ensuring the delivery...

The creation of reliable bioanalytical LC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy) methods is crucial for the discovery, development, and eventual marketing approval of new drugs. A brand-new medication called siponimod was developed to treat Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This medication is a sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator and is hypothesised to contribute to the reduction of MS-related inflammation of the central nervous system. Since the last several decades, the usage of ant sclerosis agents has grown dramatically, however there is currently no bio analytical approach available for quantifying siponimod in biological matrix investigations employing LC-MS/MS. To create a novel, quick, and accurate LC-MS/MS approach for simultaneously measuring siponimod in rat plasma utilising the liquid-liquid extraction method (LLE) and deuterated siponimod (SId6). Method: Chromatographic separation was performed in isocratic mode using acetonitrile and OPA buffer at a flow rate of 1 ml/min on a reverse phase Phenyl C18 (150 mm x 4.6 mm, 3.5 m) column. Utilising a positive-mode electrospray ion interface and multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) procedures, quantification was accomplished. Over the concentration...

Currently, the arise of drug resistance and undesirable off-target effects of anti-cancer agents are major challenges for cancer treatment, which energizes medicinal chemists to develop more anti-cancer agents with high efficiency and low toxicity continuously. sulphonamide derivatives are a class of promising compounds with diverse biological activities including anti-cancer, and parts of them have been marketed for cancer therapy. In this review, we summed up the synthesis of sulphonamide derivates and their anticancer activities. Today Cancer remains to be one of the deadliest diseases in the world. Due to the potential anticancer activity of the campholinicaldehyde and sulfonamide moieties, five novel hybrid compounds containing both structures have been designed and synthesized in 3 steps. The synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectral data, and elemental analysis and also, they were screened for in-vitro anticancer activity on human breast cancer cell line MCF-7 and HELA by the MTT assay method. Among them,4-fluoro-N-(4-(4-oxo-2- ((2,2,3-trimethylcyclopent-3-en-1-yl) methyl) thiazolidine-yl)phenyl) benzene sulfonamide (Fig. 5b) showed the most potent...

The incidence of colorectal cancer in India ranks fourth in men and third in women. Carcinogenesis is a process that involves a combination of mutations in oncogenes, tumour suppressor genes or epigenetic changes in DNA such as methylation. Our study aim to assess the clinicopathogical significance of serum Prolactin, CA19-9 and C – reactive protein in colorectal cancer. Population based case control study, which includes 120 participants and 120 healthy volunteers during the time period of one year. In our study we found, CA19-9 tumor markers reflected more specificity as compared to sensitivity and efficiency. Prolactin were significantly higher when compared with control. Further prolactin levels were significantly elevated in different stages of CRC malignancy as compared to controls. Our values demonstrated the progressive increase corresponding to clinical staging, tumor size and notable in relation to nodal status of colorectal squamous cell carcinomas. Our results may provide new approaches in the diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring the risk factors and combines both gross as well as microscopic information to determine...

Tartrazine is a lemon-yellow synthetic food colourant belonging to azo group. The Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) of tartrazine is 7.5mg/kg However, it is possible that more than permissible amount of Tartrazine is used to make food items more attractive. This may pose threat to consumer’s health. Hence the overall aim of the study was to detect and quantitate the presence of tartrazine in commercially available as well as locally made and sold fruit juices and jams. Fresh fruit juices (Branded and Non-Branded) and jams purchased from shops and street vendors in Belagavi city of Karnataka, India were subjected to High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC). Silica gel aluminum plate 60F254 was used as the stationary phase and Iso-propanol: Ammonia (6:4) v/v was used as mobile phase. HPTLC has many advantages over the other analytical methods applied for tartrazine estimation. The method was validated using analytical parameters like linearity, range, precision, specificity, LOD, LOQ and robustness. Out of the 10 branded fruit juices analysed tartrazine was present in 9 samples...
