Pomegranate fruits are a very rich source of antioxidants, Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), potassium, flavonoids and have numerous health benefits. It may help decrease the risk of having a heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes. These characteristics of pomegranate have great impact on the quality of wines. So there might be a scope for large scale manufacturing of the pomegranate wine as it has many health benefits than grape wine Thus, the present study is aimed at investigating the fermentation parameters of pomegranate wine. Fermentation of pomegranate was carried out by a yeast strain. The present study provides information on the parameters like inoculum size, pH, incubation temperature, substrate concentration and incubation period involved during wine production. These parameters are the part and parcel of wine production, without the knowledge of these parameters one cannot make a tasty and good quality wine. We see a significant variation between residual sugar % (w/v) & alcohol % by applying ANOVA for all parameters. Analysis reveals that best wine from pomegranate can...

In the present study, the inhibitory effect of crude ethanolic extracts from four plants viz. Bauhinia racemosa Lamk (stem bark and roots), Holoptelea integrifolia (Roxb.) Planch. (roots), Kirganelia reticulata (Poir) Baill. (Stem bark) and Phyllanthus maderaspatensis Linn. (whole plant) were undertaken against some test bacteria and test fungi using Disc Diffusion Method. The screening data indicated that the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extracts of B. racemosa (stem bark and root) inhibited the growth of S. aureus and P. vulgaris and H. integrifolia (roots) was found active against S. paratyphi B. The other two plants were totally inactive in this respect. A comparative study of the fungicidal activity of the four plant species indicated that although all of them exhibited activity against the select test fungi out of which the activity against A. flavus was most significant. Roots of B. racemosa were significantly active against A. niger, F. moniliforme and stem bark was active against R. bataticola. These could be attributed to the presence of racemosol and its derivatives...

Inflammation plays fundamental role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) initiation, progression and metastasis. The over expression of pro-inflammatory factors like Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), selectin, (IL)-6, nuclear factor-κB, TGF-β can alter the hepatic microvasculature. Natural products such as polyphenols, alkaloids, flavonoids, and flavonols have the ability to interface microenvironment of carcinogenic tissue. In the current study we have established human protein interaction network (HPIN) composed of 21 queries (inflammatory proteins related to HCC) and more than 493 neighboring proteins. This interaction provides some potent receptors for docking of plant based immunosuppressant with pro-inflammatory proteins. We have selected eighteen herbal compounds and docked with receptors (ALDH1, TGFBR1, and P2RY2) using Schrodinger software. The study suggests an integrated approach to normalize the immunological dysregulation for HCC treatment through silibinin, leonurine and...

Liver manage different critical metabolic functions. The point of this review is to think about hepatoprotective movement of lycopene and non lycopene containing part of tomato concentrate to investigate the likelihood that a few constituents other than lycopene may be in charge of hepatoprotective action. Writing uncovered that plant containing Carotenoids, Lycopene, Carotene, Xanthophylls, Xanthophylls Ester mixes were in charge of hepatoprotective action and they chose plant additionally having these constituent so it was conjectured that it might likewise have the capacity to ensure the liver. Keeping this view exhibit study is meant to arrange the work for the impact of hepatoprotective action of Lycopersicon esculentum. Paracetamol-initiated liver rot was repressed essentially by methanolic-I extricate (Non-lycopene fractionate) of Lycopersicon esculentum. The outcomes reasoned that the Methanolic-I (Non-lycopene division) was more compelling than the Methanolic-II (Non-lycopene part) extricate. The CCl4-III (Lycopene division) was observed to be not powerful in the treatment of the hepatotoxicity. In this manner it can be derived from this examination that Lycopersicon esculentum showed hepatoprotective action...

The main aim of this study was to prepare solid dispersion of Candesartan cilexetil so as to improve its solubility and dissolution characteristics in order to enhance its oral bioavailability. Solid dispersion was formed by fusion method. 9 formulations (F1-F9) were prepared using different carriers i.e. Sorbitol, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG 6000) and Poloxamer 407 at different ratios of 1:1, 1:3, 1:5 each. Out of 9 formulations, F3, F5 and F9 formulation compositions were selected on the basis of solubility, % yield, drug content, in-vitro dissolution studies. F3, F5 and F9 formulations were further formulated in 3 batches (A, B, C) into conventional dosage forms (tablet) with ingredients such as lactose, SSG, MCC, magnesium sulphate, and talc. On the basis of physical and chemical evaluation (Disintegration and dissolution studies), F9 was considered as the optimized formulation. The Optimized formulation, F9 i.e. Batch C was further compared with the Marketed formulation (Atacand, 4 mg) and stability studies were performed according to ICH guidelines. The optimized formulation of solid dispersion of Candesartan...
