Objective: This study aimed to investigate the in vitro effect of the extracts of five Iranian medicinal herbs on Histomonas meleagridis protozoan parasite. Methods: This study was conducted in the following three phases in Khorramabad, Iran, in 2016: 1) preparing and extracting the 5 medicinal herbs Dracocephalum kotschyi, Satureja khuzestanica, Pulicaria gnaphalodes, Olea europaea, and Echinophora platyloba DC; 2) culturing the positive cases of fecal samples in the fortified commercial medium RPMI1640 up to 1×106 parasite/ml of the parasite; and 3) investigating the effect of 1.25, 2.5, and 5 mg/ml densities of each extract and metronidazole compared with the negative control on hours 2, 4, 6, 24, and 72 with Trypan blue vital stain. Apples are rich of vital components to the human health, such as the amino acids, but their presence differ according to the type and colour of the apples. In this study we compared the concentrations of amino acids in the peels and pulps of red and green apples, by using the HLPC for analysis. 16 amino acids were found with different concentrations according to the locality in which they exist in the red and green apples cultivars. The content of amino acids in the pulps was found higher than in the peels in both the red and green apples cultivars. The content of amino acids in the green apples recorded higher value than in the red apples. Higher concentrations of Aspartic acid were found in the peels and pulps of the red and green apples while the content of Methionine acid decreased, which was considered as the lowest amino acid found in the two apples cultivars and Histidine amino acid was not detected in both red and green apples...

The ultimate aim of this research work is to develop a cisplatin loaded chitosan nanoparticle system (CCNP) to facilitate the release of cisplatin in a more sustained manner to improve therapeutic efficacy via the reduction of its toxicity. As a step-in formulation studies the work has been limited to studying the various physical characters of CCNP using a zeta nanosizer. The chitosan polymer was selected in this study because of the high poly-cationic, biodegradable and biocompatible characters. The drug of choice is cisplatin, a well-known anticancer drug, used in the treatment of various cancer types. CCNP was prepared using the ionic gelation technique and characterized using the Malvern zetasizer nano zs instrument, UK to find out the polydispersity index (pdi), zeta potential and particle size determination. Lutein is a lipid soluble, oxygenated derivative of hydrocarbon carotenoid, from xanthophyll family which is naturally present in egg yolk, vegetables and several dark green plants. In human eyes, Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only two carotenoids present in the macula region to filter the harmful ultra violet rays. In this research work, a well established method was used to synthesize of stannane of 2, 4-hexadienoic acid and its characterization was carried using ultraviolet (UV)-visible and 1H NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance). Our research aimed at developing a potent multi-target drug which could act as antibacterial agent and also peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR γ) agonists that is having the potential to activate the PPAR γ. In vitro antibacterial study was carried out against, Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive) and Escherichia coli 1610 (gram negative) using ‘well diffusion method’.
