Objectives: To identify Immunomodulatory, apoptosis induction and anticancer activities of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of Calvatia craniiformis regarding the size of tumor mass and immunohistochemical detection of caspase 8 expressions and apoptotic index in mice inoculated with H22 mouse hepatocellular carcinoma cells as therapeutic experimental system for human hepatocellular carcinoma. Materials and methods: Forty-eight Balb/C albino mice were injected in legs with H22 cells. Tumor size was measured twice a week. Immunohistochemistry used for evaluation of Caspase-8 protein expression and apoptotic index was determined. Results: Administration of aqueous extract of C. craniiformis in (0.3, 0.6, 1.2) mg/kg and alcoholic extract in (0.25, 0.5, 1) mg/kg to H22 tumor-bearing mice show significant difference (P≤0.01) in tumor size compared with control group. Inhibitory activity of aqueous and alcoholic extracts was dose and duration dependent. This study presents in vitro biomimetic synthesis of CdSe nanoparticles using the enzyme, NADPH dependent-Nitrate reductase purified from fungus, Fusarium oxysporum. The synthesis of CdSe nanoparticles was accomplished in the presence of a synthetic peptide having amino acid sequence (γ-Glu-Cys-Glu-Cys)-Gly, which acted as binding molecule. The nanoparticles were synthesized in the size range of 3.9–9.0 nm was analysed using TEM. Further characterization of nanoparticles was done using techniques such as UV, PL, XPS, and FTIR. The as-synthesized CdSe nanoparticles were water dispersible containing free reactive amino groups. These CdSe nanoparticles were conjugated with bi-antennary and tri-antennary glycopeptides opening up the possibilities for their applications in bioimaging. These significant observations will help better understand the mechanism of biosynthesis of fluorescent nanoparticles using fungi. Pharmacovigilance compiles and analyzes spontaneous adverse drug reactions (ADRs) notifications reports on pharmacovigilance databases. Benzodiazepines have been related to skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders ADRs (SSTD-ADRs); tetrazepam was withdrawn in 2013 because of these ADRs. We intended to locate possible associations between cutaneous ADRs and benzodiazepines marketed in USA; for that, we calculated Data mining algorithms (PRR, ROR, IC and EBGM) on benzodiazepines spontaneous notifications reported to the American pharmacovigilance database. ROR yielded signals for eight drugs; PRR and IC for four, and EBGM only one. Clobazam originated a signal for “Stevens-Johnson syndrome” and “Blister”; midazolam for “Toxic epidermal necrolysis”, “DRESS syndrome” and “Erythema”; quazepam for “Erythema multiform” and “Drug eruption”; and tetrazepam “Dermatitis bullous”, “Toxic skin eruption”, “Rash maculopapular” and “Rash erythematous”. The complexes of chromium(III) are synthesised with thiosemicarbazone (L1&L3) and semicarbazone (L2) derived from 2-benzoylpyridine and 2-benzoylthiophene having general composition [CrL2X2]X (Where L=L1&L3(L1&L3= thiosemicarbazone ligand and L2= semicarbazone ligand) and X= NO3– and OAc–) have been synthesised. The complexes and ligand under study are characterised by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, mass spectra, conductivity measurement, magnetic susceptibility, EPR spectral studies and NMR Spectroscopy.
