Different novel drug delivery systems, including nanogels, nanoparticles, liposomes, dendrimers, implants, contact lenses, nanosuspensions, microneedles, and in situ thermosensitive gels, have been developed to get around the barriers to improve ocular Bioavailability. For the encapsulation of visitor molecules, nanogel has become a flexible drug delivery technology in this aspect. The plant Pinda concanensis belongs to family apiaceae. It was native to the Western Ghats of India, but it is now becoming rare as a result of widespread usage of the seeds for their therapeutic properties. It is an annual herb with tuberous roots, which are eaten raw by local folklore. Apiaceae is the well-known aromatic plant family having beneficial uses in home remedies, abundance of phytochemicals, used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The plant Pinda concanensis showed presence of phenolic, flavonoid, alkaloid, terpenoid and saponin content in each plant parts with different solvents of extraction. The methanolic extract of Pinda concanensis of different parts showed highest phytocompounds which are significant P<0.005.The total phenolic content was highest in dry methanolic stem while total flavonoid content in fresh stem. But total alkaloid, total terpenoid and total saponin was more in methanolic extract of dry root. This study mainly focusses on survey, conservation and awareness of ethno-medicinal plants in the Thar desert area of Barmer. Calligonum polygonoides Linn was collected from Thar Desert region of Malana village of Barmer district, locally known as “PHOG” and “PHOGRA” and belongs to Polygonaceae family. The rareness of the plant showed need for its micropropagation. Survey was conducted in specific region of Thar Desert of Barmer District. Ethnomedicinal values of maximum plants were seen and Calligonum was selected for mass multiplication. In-vitro culture was done in Calligonum polygonoides with different hormonal concentration in MS media with BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine) as cytokinin and IAA (Indole-3-acetic acid), IBA (Indole-3-butyric acid) 2,4-D (2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid), NAA(1-naphthaleneacetic acid) as auxin.
