Background: The most important factor contributing to human genetic problems is chromosomal abnormalities. It is crucial to choose screening tests and diagnostic procedures that are exact, accurate, safe, and able to be conducted during early pregnancy in order to make the best-informed choice possible while taking into account the probable outcomes of pregnancy. Method and Material: In the present prospective study chromosomal analysis was done for various types of suspected 900 referred patients. The patients were referred from mainly Gynaecology hospital Usha Nursing Home and Sat Kaival Hospital, Anand in association with Gene Care Accuris Laboratory, Surat from June 2021 to March 2023. Result: The overall frequency of chromosomal abnormalities was 2.5% (23/900). Out of 23 cytogenetic abnormal patients, numerical abnormalities were found in 21(2.33%) and structural abnormalities we detected in 02(0.22%) patients. The most common autosomal abnormalities were Down’ syndrome 18(2%). Another abnormality was Edward’s Syndrome 03(0.33%). Chromosomal structural disorder occupied 02(0.22%) including robertsonian translocation. Conclusion: To avoid the delivery of foetuses with chromosomal disorders, karyotype screening of...

The purpose of this current investigation was for screening the wound healing potential of Ethanolic extract of Caralluma adscendens (EECA) whole plant. Caralluma adscendens (Apocynaceae), a common medicinal plant in traditional Indian medicine. Mentions in folk medicine and existing data raised an outlook on this plant for evaluating wound healing potential. Ethanolic extract of Caralluma adscendens (EECA) has been examined for its wound healing activity by utilizing couple of wound models in rats: (i) excision wound model and (ii) incision wound model following application of standard or extract topically. Animals have been categorized into 4 groups with six in every group. Group I left untreated, Group II received soframycin skin cream as standard, Group III and IV received 100mg and 200mg of Ethanolic extract of Caralluma adscendens (EECA) whole plant. Results obtained upon treatment with the plant extract groups shown activity close to standard drug activity, Soframycin, in terms of wound contraction ability, time taken for wound closure and tensile strength. 200mg of plant extract has produced better wound...

The pyrimidine scaffold found in many bioactive drugs; some commercially available drugs containing at least one pyrimidine ring in their structure. The literature survey reveals that replacement of 1H-pyrazole of pyrazolo [3,4-d] pyrimidine ring system by other bioactive moieties drastically alters its pharmacological properties. Prompted by the varied biological activities of pyrazolopyrimidine derivatives, we envisioned our approach towards the synthesis and antimicrobial screening of a novel series of pyrazolo [3,4-d] pyrimidine derivatives. Novel functionalized pyrimidine derivatives and their derived bicyclic pyrazolo thiazolo pyrimidine compounds were synthesized by cyclocondensation of 3-cyano-2- methylthio-4-oxo-4H-substituted thiazolo [1,2-a] pyrimidines with hydrazine hydrate gave novel series of pyrimidine derivatives in one step, and the chemical structures of the compounds was confirmed by IR and 1 H NMR spectral data. All the compounds of the series have been screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity studies. The result revealed that all compounds showed significant antimicrobial activity. The current research is being directed towards the synthesis and improvement of biological activity of the pyrazolopyrimidine...

Introduction: Urinary tract infection is the most frequent infection reported worldwide till now. To better understanding regarding epidemiology and emerging antimicrobial resistance among bacterial uropathogens, we studied the demographic distribution and antibiotic susceptibility pattern of microorganisms causing UTI in our local hospital-based study. Materials and Methods: We analysed the retrospective data of laboratory confirmed UTIs, from January 2017 to December 2021. Causative agents of UTI, along with their demographic profile, distribution and their antibiogram was determined by using conventional methods. On the basis of that, 5-year multiple antibiotic resistance index was calculated to determine the resistance pattern of isolated bacterial uropathogens. Results: During study period, total 9426 samples were received. Out of which, 1133 (12.01%) showed significant bacteriuria with monomicrobial growth. With 64.17% isolation from female patients with predominance age group 16-60 years. From 1133 positive isolates, gram negative and gram positive isolates were reported in 298 (26.30%) and 835 (73.69%) isolates respectively, with predominance of E. coli (52.25%) followed by Enterococcus spp. (18.36%) Klebsiella spp. (8.21%). Multiple antibiotic...

Human gut serves as a home to over 100-1000 microbial species, which primarily modulate the host internal environment and thereby, play a major role in host health. Humans are a unique reservoir of heterogeneous and vivacious group of microbes, which together forms the human-microbiome superorganism. Probiotic bacteria are beneficial to human health by improving the gutmicro biota balance and the defenses against pathogens. Additional health benefits attributed to probiotics are the stimulation of the immune system, blood cholesterol reduction, vitamin synthesis etc. Chocolate is mostly a unique food product for all age groups. The addition of lactobacillus to these chocolates thus creates a tastier option for transferring these bacteria to the stomach for the betterment of the microbial environment of the gut. Thus, Lactobacillus and Bifido bacterium were collected from five different samples and introduced into the milk chocolate for the preparation of probiotic milk chocolate. Both the organism was isolated and identified. Their physiochemical properties, sensory attributes and probiotic viability in milk chocolates were assessed. Thus, the study...
