A wide range of compounds are found to be effective against cancer for example Vitamin D3, lysine, proline, gallate, quercetin, etc. Glucosinolates from cabbage are secondary metabolites hydrolyzed by the enzyme myrosinase 1. Their breakdown products such as isothiocyanates, nitriles and thiocyanates, are chemically very reactive, and they are known for their bioactive characteristics, such as anticarcinogenic, fungicidal and bactericidal properties 2. The objective of this study was to formulate a nutrient medium containing glucosinolates from cabbage, Vitamin D3, proline and selenium and study its effect on the SGOT, SGPT and ALP levels. To see the synergistic effect of these nutrients, along with glucosinolates from cabbage two nutrient medium were formulated, NM1 (100 mg/kg BW of rats of Brassica oleracea extract+ 25 mg/kg BW of Vitamin D3+ 4 µg/kg BW selenium+ 500 mg/kg BW of proline) and NM2 (200 mg/kg BW of rats of Brassica oleracea extract+ 50 mg/kg BW of Vitamin D3+ 6 µg/kg BW selenium+ 1000 mg/kg BW of proline) 3. These NM were administered to Wistar...

We have carried out solid supported ,solvent free condition, microwave assisted rapid synthesis of 1- (2,5- substituted diphenyl)-1, 3, 4- oxadiazol -3(2H) – yl) ethanone (3a-3k) by cyclization of N’- (substituted phenyl methylidene) substituted benzohydrazide (2a-2k) in the presence of acetic anhydride and silica gel ( solid support) for 3-4 minutes by microwave irradiation giving excellent yield in short reaction time are notable advantages of this method. The structure elucidations of all the synthesized compounds have been accomplished by elemental analysis, IR, NMR and Mass spectroscopic method. The synthesized compounds (3a-3k) were screened in vitro for their antibacterial activities against S. aureus ( gram positive ) and E. coli ( gram negative ) by cup plate method . Some of the products of series were found to have quite good activities as compared to the standard drug streptomycin. The introduction of -F, -NO2, -Cl (electron withdrawing) group enhancing antibacterial...

Thrombocytopenia is a common hematological finding with variable clinical expression. Low platelet count may be the initial manifestation of infections such as HIV, hepatitis, and also associated with some viral infection like dengue hemorrhagic fever, malaria, etc. In the present study, Methanol extract of Eclipta alba was evaluated at a dose of 200 mg/kg body weight for 7 days in alcohol induced thrombocytopenic model in rats. Treatment with methanol extract of Eclipta alba significantly increased the platelet count within 3-5 days of treatment and also decreased the bleeding and clotting time when compared to alcohol treated groups. Hematological studies revealed that there is an increased in Megakaryocytes number in the bone marrow and histopathalogical examination indicated that significant decrease in liver sinusoidal dilation in the extract treated rats when compared to alcohol control. Therefore, the present study demonstrates potential use of Eclipta alba as an anti-thrombocytopenic and the effect on platelet distribution might be due to the presence of antioxidant and polyphenolic...

Different herbal Plants are used globally for safe and natural source of medicine from ancient ages. Jussiaea repens L, is a medicinal herb that has been reported to have non toxic antigonadal activity, which reduced the sperm count, motility, viability and morphological alteration of spermatozoa in rats. It also alters histoarchitechture vis-à-vis functions of testicular tissues by altering the biochemical and hormonal profile. The present study was designed to evaluate whether J.repens crude aqueous extract treatment affects the histoarchitecture of epididymis and its biochemical alterations which are correlated with sperm maturation, as the relationship between spermatozoa and microenviroimient of epididymis during the sperms remain in it, is important for male fertility. Adult male albino rats were fed crude aqueous extract of Jussiaea repens at the dose of 200mg/kg b.wt /day for 28 days consecutively, which caused significant reduction in epididymal sialic acid, glycogen, phospholipid, GSH, and testosterone level. But no change in total lipid and MDA level. Histological studies of epididymis showed the epithelial lining and basement membrane was...

Lipase is an important of extracellular thermostable enzyme that has received considerable attention for potential use in the food industry. Hence to achieve large scale production of gram positive and negative organism is commercially important lipase enzyme under the fermentation. Lipases are produced by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. However, we have focused on bacterial microbial lipases were economically importance of several properties. The present studies of the goals of this paper were isolation and identification of lipase producing bacteria from biogas producing power plant waste volatile substances as sources. Optimization of the experimental conditions for the maximal amount of enzyme production was...
