A FTIR method was developed to estimate Artemether and Lumefantrine simultaneously in bulk as well as in formulations. It is based on the measurement of absorption of radiation at the absorption band of ether at 1113.10-1091.77 cm-1 for ART and phenyl substitution band at 893.65-857.08 cm-1 for LUM, because those absorption bands did not occur in excipients present in a pharmaceutical preparation. The proposed method was validated as per ICH guidelines. The calibration curve was obtained for a series of concentration in the range of 17-470 mg for ART and 10-250 mg for LUM, and it was found to be linear. The linear regression equation was y = +84.78-193.1*x for ART and y = +353.75+2129.1*x for LUM with correlation coefficient value 0.999 for ART and LUM which were within the acceptance criteria. The current research was accomplished to assess the analgesic activity of Argyreia cymosa (A. cymosa) methanolic extracts (MEAC) at 200 and 400 mg/kg. The entire herb was extracted with the methanol (MEAC). Acute oral toxicity of the extract was according to OECD-423 recommendations. Analgesic activity was explored by utilizing hot plate, tail immersion and acetic acid-evoked writhing models. In acute toxicity study, no mortality was observed when each extract was orally administered with 2000 mg/kg. At the doses (200 and 400 mg/kg) methanolic extract of Argyreia cymosa demonstrated considerable and dosed reliant analgesic effect. The conclusions from the present investigation confirmed the folkloric usage of Argyreia cymosa as an analgesic agent. Plasmodium knowlesi, a simian malaria parasite, is widely used as a malaria model and now characterized as a clinically significant parasite that can lead to outbreaks throughout most countries in Southeast Asia. Despite its importance, both fundamental and clinical studies of P. knowlesi have been impeded by the lack of a convenient in-vitro culture system partly due to the parasite’s preference for reticulocytes. Adenocalymma alliaceum is an important medicinal plant belongs to the family Bignoniaceae. The antibacterial and phytochemical studies on the leaves of this plant were carried out by using the disc diffusion method and Thin Layer Chromatography.
