Diabetic neuropathy is one of the most serious microvascular complications of diabetes, which appears in about 50% of the patients suffering from diabetes. It is a nerve disorder caused by diabetes, characterized usually by numbness, pain or tingling in the feet or legs, which can lead to serious problems. Patients with diabetic neuropathy suffer from various types of pain. The underlying mechanisms include hyperglycaemia, insulin deficiency, oxidative stress, nitrosative stress, ischaemia, osmolyte accumulation, neurotropic factors deficiency, autoimmune-mediated nerve destruction, alterations in cellular signal pathways and gene expression of proteins. The factors leading to the development of peripheral neuropathy in diabetes are not understood completely, and multiple hypotheses have been advanced which include the polyol pathway, non-enzymatic glycation, oxidative stress, altered neurotropism and apoptosis. At present, there is no clinically proven efficacious drug specifically designated for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy; however, prevention or retardation of the progress of diabetic neuropathy is considered to depend on various antidiabetics, antioxidants, anti-depressants, anticonvulsants, NSAIDs, etc. The new advances in the development of...

Phyla nodiflora Linn., Synonym- Lippia nodiflora Rich also known as Jala-pippali is an important herb which can be used medicinally. The aim of the present study is to fractionate several chemical constituents in Phyla nodiflora. Chromatography was used for designing of multi component solvent system for different extracts where, for methanolic extract Hexane: Toluene: Ethyl acetate (2: 1.5: 0.5); for chloroform and petroleum ether Hexane: Ethyl acetate (3:1) were selected. Five different phenolic components were extracted and comparison was done through HPTLC and it was found that in phenolic BuOH extract maximum active constituents were separated....

The present study was aimed to investigate phytochemicals present in the whole plant extract of Dendrophthoe falcata and development of new solvent system for thin layer chromatography of ethanolic (whole plant) extract of medicinal plant Dendrophthoe falcata. The extract showed presence of Carbohydrates, Sterols, Glycosides, Flavonoids and Phenolic compounds. For TLC, new solvent system developed, best result was given by solvent system- Toluene: Ethyle acetate: Formic acid in the ratio of 2.5:1:1. HPTLC report of the extract in same solvent system- Toluene: Ethyle acetate: Formic acid in the ratio of 2.5:1:1 showed the presence of eleven active chemical...

Condensation of o-phenylene diamine with chloro acetic acid gave 2-chloromethyl benzimdazole, which undergoes halide replacement with phenylhydrazines to give the corresponding NN’ disubstituted hydrazines. The synthesized compounds were subjected to microbiological screening and In- vitro anti-inflammatory activity....
