A fixed-dose combination of montelukast sodium, levocetirizine dihydrochloride, and acebrophyl line is used in the treatment of asthma, COPD, allergic rhinitis and other conditions where patients feel difficulty in breathing. The present study was designed to develop and validate a simple, sensitive, precise and accurate isocratic reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for simultaneous estimation of montelukast sodium (MTKT), levocetrizine dihydrochloride (LTZ) and acebrophyl line (ABP) in fixed-dose combination tablets. Chromatographic separation of these drugs was achieved on Hypersil ODS C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5µm) as stationary phase. A mixture of methanol, acetonitrile and 20 mM ammonium acetate buffer in the ratio of 60:30: 10v/v was used as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.8 ml/min with detection at 232 nm at a column temperature set at 35 ℃. The total elution time for the three drugs was about 10 min. The developed method was validated by conducting system suitability, selectivity, linearity, precision, accuracy, limits of detection, and limits of quantification as per ICH guidelines....

The comparative study designed to evaluate the anthelmintic potential of the methanolic extracts of Hibiscus rosa-sinesis (L) and Azadirachta indica (L) leaves against helminth: Haemonchus spp., an abomasal parasite For this study various concentrations (1, 2.5, 5.0, 10.0 mg/ml) of both the extracts were screened. 1 mg/ml concentration of Albendazole (ABZ) was used as a positive control (reference) and Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) alone was used as a negative control. The results were represented with respect to time (min) taken to get paralyze followed by the death of the treated parasite in all the tested concentrations. The results of the study disclosed the anthelmintic efficacy, of both the plants when compared with the positive control (reference). The results also established that Hibiscus rosa-sinesis (L) leaves show more effective anthelmintic potential as compared with Azadirachta indica (L)...

To study the anti-oxidant and anti-diabetic activities of isolated compound beta-sitosterol from the ethanolic extract of stem of Andrographis echioides under the in-vitro model. The isolation was done using column chromatography using gradient elution with different mobile phases. Structural elucidation was carried out on the basis of spectral analysis. Anti-oxidant activity was determined by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl scavenging assay. The anti-diabetic activity was evaluated by the inhibitory potential of isolated compound beta-sitosterol against alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase assays. The study revealed that the beta-sitosterol exhibited significant α-amylase (58.57±0.29) and α-glucosidase (43.85±0.032) inhibitory activities respectively and well compared with standard acarbose drug. The beta-sitosterol showed the best scavenging activity (74.46±0.036) against the tested radicals like 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, The infra-red spectrum specific absorption bands for beta-sitosterol viz: 3427.78 cm‐1 (O‐H stretching.); 2937.40 cm‐1 (aliphatic C‐Hstretching); 1640.58 cm‐1 (C=C absorption peak); other absorption peaks includes 1464.31cm‐1 (CH2); 1381.56 cm‐1 (OH def), 1054.11 cm‐1 (cycloalkane) and 800.97 cm‐1. Structural elucidation of beta-sitosterol was done by spectrum analysis such as 13C and 1H depth nuclear magnetic resources. Therefore,...

In the present study, to develop a novel flash release fast dissolving oral film of candesartan cilexetil to achieve rapid dissolution and further improve the bioavailability of the drug. Also, to resolve the swallowing problems in pediatrics, geriatric patients by rapid dissolution in saliva and improve the patient compliance. Fast dissolving flash release oral flim of candesartan cilexetil was formulated using HPMCE5, HPMCE15 and HPMCK15 as film-forming polymers. Glycerol, polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol were used as a plasticizer by solvent casting method and found to satisfy the mouth dissolving film and other film parameters. The formulated films of candesartan cilexetil were evaluated for parameters like thickness, weight variation, folding endurance, SEM, surface pH disintegration time, drug content, in-vitro dissolution studies and kinetics studies. The in-vitro disintegration time of the optimized batch F5 was found to be 56 ± 0.12 sec. The films exhibited satisfactory thickness and folding endurance. The optimized batch F5 (HPMCE15) showed a faster disintegrating time, showing 96.02 ± 0.49 drug release within 30 min. The...

Theoretical studies on two previously synthesized 3-((2, 4-dinitrophenyl) amino)-5-methyl-2-phenylimidazolidin-4- one (1) and 3-((2,4-dinitrophenyl) amino)-2-phenylimidazolidin-4- one (2) were carried out using the Density Functional Theory method. The geometrical parameters of the molecules in the ground state was optimized at the DFT-B3LYP level of theory and ab initio method using 6-31G (d,p) basis set. Bond angle and bond length were calculated from optimized geometry. The calculated bond angle and bond length indicated that both the molecules are planar. Various quantum chemical parameters such as dipole moment (μ), energy difference (ΔE), softness (S) and global hardness (η), highest occupied molecular orbital (EHOMO) and lowest occupied molecular orbital (ELUMO) has been calculated in order to elucidate the adsorption and corrosion inhibition behavior of the molecules. The anticorrosive ability of the molecules was also...
