Cancer plays crucial role in human life and critical disease to cure. Signaling pathways involved in stem cells development process. Especially, Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway plays important role in stem cells self-renewal, differentiation and proliferation. Despite, over expression and mutation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway induced variety of cancer development. Anticancer activities of several natural and synthetic agents were used to treat many cancer types. Many synthetic agents were used to cure various cancer but they have their toxicity. So, plant derived chemotherapeutic agents are going to investigate against cancer without side effect. In this paper we evaluate anticancer properties of Tradescantia spathacea medicinal plant and aberrant expression of β-catenin protein in human breast adenocarcinoma cell line (MCF-7). The plant leaves were collected, shade dried and extracted with hydroalcohol using soxhlet. Cytotoxic activities were assayed with MTT colorimetric procedure against MCF-7 cell lines. From the result, plant leaves extracts showed nearly 50 % MCF-7 cell line inhibition at 229.7µg/ml tested...

A rapid, selective, precise, accurate, rugged and robust high performance liquid chrmatgraphic (HPLC) method for the simultaneous determination of Candesartan Cilexetil & Hydrochlorthiazide in tablet dosage form .The method was validated according to ICH and FDA guidelines. The chromatography is performed on a Kromasil C8, 150 x 4.6 mm, 5µm, in a gradient mode with a mobile phase of Water, acetonitrile and Trifluracetic acid in different ratios. UV-Visible detector at 285 nm was found to be suitable for detection. Linearity was observed in the range of 70 -130μg/ml with correlation coefficient of 0.9999. Sensitivity, accuracy, range, precision, robustness, ruggedness, stability, specificity, limit of detection, limit of quantification and system suitability parameters were validated for the developed method. The developed method was successfully applied to estimate the amounts in pharmaceutical formulations and for the stability indicating...

In the present work various conventional methods and microwave method for synthesis of substituted quinolone reported. Substituted anilines were taken as a starting material and reacted with ethyl acetoacetate in presence of catalytic amount of acid and cyclized by various cyclisation agents that give the title compounds which differ in its color intensity, reaction time as well in %yield. Based on results we obtain, it has been concluded that microwave method for synthesis of substituted quinolone is more convenient in terms of reaction time and use of...

Cucurbitaceae commonly known as “Guard family” is distributed throughout India. Most of them, are perennial climbers with attractive flowers. The family includes plants having food as well as medicinal values. The species of the family are collectively known as cucurbits. They grow wild as well as cultivated throughout the state in Odisha in general and Similipal Biosphere Reserve (SBR) forest and its adjoining areas in particular. The major cucurbits available in SBR and its adjoining areas are Coccinia grandis L., Cucumis melo L., Lufa acutangula (L.) Roxb., Luffa cylindrica (L.) Roem., Solena amplexicaulis Lam., Mukia madraspatana (L.) Roem., Trichosanthus cucumerina L., Trichosanthus tricuspidata Lour.and Diplocyclos palmatus (L.) Jeffrey. The food values of some of these cucurbits have been assessed. Phytochemical analysis and antibacterial activity of the plant parts have shown potent medicinal values. Present paper highlights the diversity of wild cucurbits (WC) at SBR along with their nutritional and medicinal...

Marine organisms are potentially prolific sources of highly bioactive secondary metabolites that might represent useful leads in the development of new pharmaceutical agents. The Libyan marine biodiversity including macroalgae remains partially unexplored in term of their potential bioactivities. Method: The phytochemical analysis of the alcoholic extracts of some commonly occurring seaweed Cystoseira compressa, Enteromorpha intestinals, Corallina and Ulva lactuca and their evaluated for antibacterial activity by well diffusion assay were studied. Four different solvents namely water, ethanol 99 %, methanol 99 %, and methylated spirit 95 % were used for extraction. Results: The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of Carbohydrates, Steroids, Tannin & Phenols, Saponins, Proteins, and glycosides. The extracts were subjected for study of antibacterial activity. The zone of inhibition ranged between 8 to 16 mm in aqueous extract and up to 16 mm in methanol extract. The maximum activity (16 mm) was recorded from methanol extract of Ulva lactuca against Staphylococcus aureus and, minimum activity (8mm) recorded by Cystoseira compressa against Staphylococcus...
