Background: Increase prevalence of viral infection such as hepatitis B or/and hepatitis C are followed by high incidence of mortality among hemodialysis patients. Objective: To determine prevalence and correlation of viral infection (Hepatitis B or/and Hepatitis C) among Hemodialysis Patients that died for the last five years in Indonesia and Malaysia in relation to gender, age, causes, and country. Method: A retrospective study was done in this research. The study included only hepatitis patients (hepatitis B and / or hepatitis C) passed away from 2010 to 2015. Universal sampling was used to select 185 patients from Indonesia hospital and 14 patients in Malaysia hospital but only 108 patients in Indonesia and 5 patients in Malaysia were included in this research. Results: The result indicates that more than 50 % patients have hepatitis C (63 patients). Hepatitis C mostly occurred among male and hypertensive patients between 51-60 years old. There is a significant correlation (P value ≤ 0.05) between age and type of infection for all hemodialysis hepatitis patients. Also,...

Association rule mining is the recent research area in data mining. Frequent Itemset Mining techniques is one of the prominent techniques in pattern mining. In this system frequent itemset mining is used to find the frequent amino acids patterns in Dengue Virus Type1 data set. This system uses an integration of Transaction Reduction and Random Sampling (TRRS) approach to identify the frequent patterns in Dengue Virus Type1 amino acids sequence. Our system reveals the association between the amino acids. Our System first identifies the number of amino acids sequences suitable for each transaction and finds the number of association rules using Transaction Reduction and Random Sampling methods by varying the sample size. Experimental results show that the performance of our proposed Transaction Reduction and Random Sampling Algorithm(TRRS) works efficiently when compared to Apriori algorithm, FP Growth algorithm, Two Dimensional Transaction Reduction(TDTR) Algorithm Improved TDTR algorithm, Set Oriented Mining (SETM) algorithm and Improved SETM Algorithm (ISETM) in terms of number of association rules generated and the time taken to generate...

Brassica campestris Linn. (yellow mustard), a common Indian condiment, possesses melatonin as an important antioxidant. Optimization of supercritical carbon dioxide extraction (SC-CO2) process parameters was conducted to obtain an extract having the best combination of yield of melatonin and maximum in vitro hypoglycaemic and hypocholesterolemic activities, along with a desirable balance of ω6 to ω3 fatty acids. A full factorial design and response surface methodology were employed for process optimization. Melatonin content of the extracts was obtained by high performance liquid chromatography and by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The optimized extraction conditions were obtained at 300 bar, 50 °C for 120 min. This extract exhibited highest content of melatonin (660.72±41.05 ng/g of dry mustard powder), maximum in vitro hypocholesterolemic (60.11±3.89%) and hypoglycaemic (59.70±2.67µg/ml) activities and possessed minimum ω6 to ω3 (1.29) ratio with minimum erucic acid content (2.00±0.20 g/100g of fatty acid). The electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy of the extract (0.10±0.001 g/ml) showed 72.10±4.01% scavenging activity of DPPH radicals, establishing its strong antioxidant potency. A new Chrastil equation was developed...

The extraction of poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) and C-phycocyanin (C-PC) from Nostoc muscorum revealed that PHB yield after C-PC extraction was not found differ significantly as without C-PC extraction. Under photoautotrophic growth condition, the test cyanobacterium accumulates PHB and C-PC with a maximum yield of 40 and 57 mg l-1 respectively at the stationary phase, i.e. on day 21 of incubation. The most significant enhancement in C-PC yield up to 146 mg l-1 was recorded in 0.4 % fructose supplementation. High C-PC and PHB yield was observed in 0.4% fructose supplementation followed by 0.4% glucose supplementation. Here, in this study we show, that PHB yield after C-PC extraction was not affected significantly and C-PC yield was found enhanced under 0.4 % carbon source (fructose and glucose) supplementation. Significant Biomass and PHB yield depicted under supplementation of glucose, fructose, maltose and sucrose was due to boost in growth. Thus, present study demonstrates the extraction of both the products, i.e. PHB and C-PC is...
