Microbes are widespread and have been studied widely in recent years. Disease-causing microbes can also be called pathogens, germs, or bugs. These microbes are responsible for causing infectious diseases. Microbes are mediators in almost all ecosystem processes and act as a global pivotal game changer in various ecological activities. The therapeutic outcome with antimicrobial drugs depends totally on the selection of antimicrobial drugs. The choice of antimicrobial drugs depends on causative agents, patient factors, and clinical pharmacology of antimicrobial agents. The current review discusses how microbes can enter the human body through different sites and how antimicrobial drugs help cure various infectious diseases. Along with the same, the current review also represents how antimicrobial drugs affect the viability of microorganisms. The article also incorporates the prophylactic use of antimicrobial drugs. The main objective of the current review article is to give detailed knowledge about single, binary and tertiary combinations of antimicrobial drugs, analytical methods, and patent search of these...

The development of Nanotechnology has paved the way to study various nanomaterials. Nanoparticles are structures that measure the size from 1-100nm. Widely used nanoparticles are usually prepared using noble metals, that is, gold, silver, palladium, and platinum. At the same time, they find their way into a wide range of applications in medicine, electronics, energy saving, environment, textile, cosmetics, biomedical, etc. The natural reducing agents in plants, such as carbohydrates, flavonoids, etc., reduce the silver, generating potential silver nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles are intended to be used for the present study generated through green synthesis using millets. Millets are small-seeded grasses that are hardy and grow well in dry zones as rain-fed crops under marginal conditions of soil fertility and moisture. The different varieties of millets intended to be used in the project are Barnyard millet, Finger millet, Foxtail millet, Kodo millet, little millet, Pearl millet, Prosomillet, Sorghum. The Silver nanoparticles synthesized through an aqueous extract of different varieties were checked for their quality using UV-VIS spectrophotometer and Scanning electron...

Background: Escherichia coli (E. coli) is one of the most common agents of bacterial infections, the emergence of multidrug resistance in E. coli has posed major threat to global health resulting in failure of treatment that leads to increased mortality and cost of healthcare facilities. Material and Methods: For this study, a total of 500 specimens like urine, blood, pus, stool, sputum and different body fluids received in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory were processed and inoculated on culture plates (Blood agar, MacConkey agar, Cysteine Lactose Electrolyte Deficient Agar) and incubated at 37°C for 18-24 hours. After identification, E. coli was processed for Antibiotic susceptibility testing on Muller Hinton Agar using Kirby Baeur disk diffusion method. E. coli ATCC 25922 was used as reference strain. Results: Of 500 specimens received in clinical laboratory from different age groups, 180 were culture positive, of which 88 were E. coli isolates. 48(54.5%) E. coli isolates were obtained from female patients while 40(45.5%) were from male patients. Isolation of E. coli was highest in...

A series of flavones derivatives 11(a-j) have been synthesized and evaluated for their in-vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities. The antibacterial screening data showed that compounds with 4-methoxyphenyl (11c), 4-fluorophenyl (11d), and 2, 5-fluorophenyl (11h) substituent’s on tetrazole ring, showed the maximum activity against the organisms used. The antifungal screening revealed that a compound with 4-nitropheny (11g) on tetrazole ring exhibited the highest activity against A. niger and a compound with 4-methoxyphenyl (11c) group exhibited good activity against C....

Hordeum vulgare (Barley) grass is the best functional food for providing nutrition and eliminating toxins from human cells; however, its functional ingredients have also played an important role in health benefits. Flavonoids, saponarin, lutonarin, K, Ca, Se, dietary fiber, polysaccharide, alkaloid, glycoside, tannin, metallothionein and polyphenols are all found in barley grass. Microscopical studies showed that stomata, epidermal cells and trichomes were conducted as part of a pharmacognostic investigation of the grass of H. vulgare. The qualitative assays were done to predict the presence of phenols, tannin and flavonoid content. The Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method was used to screen H. vulgare leaf extract for antimicrobial potential against S. typhi, S. aureus, B. subtilis and E. coli and chloramphenicol was used as a standard. Amongst all the extracts, the chloroform extract of H. vulgare was found to be more effective as its MIC value is almost equal to the standard antibiotic...
