The current study was undertaken to formulate and evaluate herbal hydrogel containing ethanolic seed extract of plant Coix lacryma jobi L. Hydrogel was prepared by ethanolic seed extract, carbapol 934p, aloevera gel extract, triethanolamine and methylparaben. The effects of critical parameters (concentration of Carbapol 934p and Aloe vera gel extract) were investigated by executing design of the experiment using 32 factorial designs through Design Expert 12 version software. All the formulations were developed and evaluated for visual inspection, pH, viscosity, spreadability, drug release and drug content. Optimized formulation was subjected to in-vitro antifungal activity against Candida albicans. It was observed that formulation variables X1: Carbapol 934p and X2: Aloeveragel extract significantly affected the response Y1: Viscosity (cp) and Y2: Drug release (% Drug release). Stability studies conducted under accelerated conditions and at room temperature were shown acceptable results. It was concluded that hydrogel containing coix ethanolic seed extract showed good consistency, spreadability, homogeneity, and stability. This study confirmed that quality by design is an effective approach for understanding the...

Background: Childhood obesity is an emerging public health concern in India and worldwide. A school-based study was conducted to estimate the prevalence of overweight and obesity in school-going children and educate them about obesity and its ill effects on health. Methods: The present study is an observational cross-sectional study on 426 6- to 14 students (Boys: 217, Girls: 209) from randomly selected schools in Jamshedpur City, Jharkhand. WHO, Standard Age, and Sex-specific Growth Reference charts defined overweight and obesity. Modified B.G Prasad Classification for socioeconomic scale (2022) was adopted to assess the family’s socioeconomic status. Results: Based on World Health Organization BMI references among 426 children, 15.5% and 6.1% of children were found overweight and obese, respectively. Obesity in children was found to have a significant association (P = 0.032) with age. The prevalence of overweight and obesity was higher among upper socioeconomic-class children (P = 0.004). Conclusion: Overweight and Obesity is prevalent in the study population. The high familial income, private school, dietary patterns, and decreased physical activity among the...

Citrus maxima, a well-known citrus species, is an important Assam plant used to treat various disorders by many communities in Northeast India. The local tribes of Northeast India have been using the leaves of C. maxima to eradicate worm infestations since time immemorial. Till date, no scientific research has been conducted on this plant to determine its anthelmintic potential. As a result, an extensive screening was conducted on the anthelmintic potential of ethanol extract of Citrus maxima leaves against Pheretima posthuma using albendazole as the reference standard. Fifty-five Indian adult earthworms were collected and divided into eleven groups of five worms each. This essay considered three concentrations of the standard drug albendazole and the ethanolic extract of C. maxima leaves. This involved keeping track of the time required for the worms’ paralysis and death after being exposed to the drugs. Results showed a dose-dependent increase in the anthelmintic activity with ethanolic extract of Citrus maxima showed the highest activity at the dose of 200 mg/mL. When compared with the...

Polymeric films of pure PVP/ gelatin mixture contain different measures of Barium oxide Nanoparticles to be arranged for projecting. The arranged films’ underlying and associated actual properties are concentrated on utilizing various methods. The acquired information uncovered the present expansion of gelatin and Barium oxide Nanoparticles causes underlying variety in the Poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) organization. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) designs uncover the formless character of the mixture increments along the centralization of Barium oxide Nanoparticles. Composite arrangements exist, affirmed by XRD and FT-IR investigation. The results show that the current expansion of gelatin and Barium Oxides Nanoparticles to Poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) changes the warm way of behaving, such as the mirror progress temperature and warm soundness. Also, the expansion of gelatin and Barium Oxides Nanoparticles produce work on the electrical properties of Poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) film. The visual what’s more, electrical outcomes recommended the appropriateness of these substances in the Optical or potentially electrical...

Background: Post-marketing surveillance via spontaneous Adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring and reporting method is in place, even though it is considered as one of the key challenge for under-reporting and establishing the quality of patient safety in the healthcare system. Objective: This study is intended to know the clinician’s opinion (mindset) on the implementation of PvPI-Helpline (Helpline Number) and concise ADR form in In-patient case sheets at a tertiary care teaching hospital, Telangana India as they play a vital role for improving the reporting system of ADRs. Materials and Methods: A Cross-sectional Surveillance based study was carried out in Osmania medical college and affiliated hospitals, for 2-months duration among 160 Clinicians. The questionnaire consists of 4 questions and the participants were informed to provide their feedback. Data was collected and analyzed using SPSS version 25 software. Results: Only150 clinicians responded. 98.6% of Clinicians agreed to implement PvPI-Helpline (Toll-Free) number for quick reporting of ADRs.93.3% disagreed with creating a WhatsApp group for reporting ADRs as they taught it was not a secure platform to...
