Herbal medicine has been used for many years by different cultures around the world for the treatment of diabetes. There has been an enormous interest in the development of alternative medicines for type 2 diabetes, specifically screening for phytochemicals with the ability to delay or prevent glucose absorption. The goal of the present study is to evaluate the invitro antidiabetic activity of Raphanus sativus ethanolic extract and fractions by α-glucosidase and α -amylase inhibitory activity. Raphanus sativusethanolic extract and fractions showed dose dependent inhibition of α-glucosidase and α -amylase enzyme and exhibited lower inhibitory activity than acarbose. The study revealed the antidiabetic potential and could be helpful to develop medicinal preparations and nutraceuticals and function foods for...

Serum albumins are the most abundant proteins in plasma with many physiological functions. Among them, BSA has a wide range of functions involving the binding, transport and delivery of fatty acids, porphyrins, bilirubin, steroids, etc and it is home to specific binding sites for metals, pharmaceuticals and dyes. Recently, nanotechnology has become a popular term in the current science and technology. Nanotechnology has been introduced for the food and drug industry, including encapsulations and delivery systems. BSA nanoparticles were prepared and their binding efficacy with the available analgesics such as acetanilide and its derivatives were studied. The value of apparent rate constant Kapp from the interaction between acetanilide and BSA by UV visible spectroscopic and fluorescence technique was found to be 2.294X106. The quenching rate constant of BSA-Acetanilide was found to be 1.0345X1015M-1 S-1. There are two binding sites in BSA for acetanilide. A QSAR study was performed for the different analgesics. Inhibition of Acetanilide and its derivatives with the Cyclooxygenase (COX 1) was studied using docking mechanism. The...

The present study was designed to evaluate the impacts of high dietary fat on serum Total cholesterol and fatty liver syndrome in rats. Rats are fed on diets containing cholesterol; they develop fatty livers which are characterized by the presence in the liver of excessive amounts of cholesteryl esters, and glyceride. Increasement of glyceride content depend on a number of factors, such as the dietary contents of choline, While the nature of the “cholesterol” fatty liver and the effects on its composition of a number of dietary and other factors. In the present paper, we investigated the quantitative changes which occur in the “cholesterol” fatty liver, as a result of variations in the fat content of the diet, with particular reference to the deposition of cholesterol and of glyceride on diets of constant cholesterol content. Investigation was conducted on 90 day old Wister rats. It was observed that the serum TC values in rats of groups B and C were higher than control group. Furthermore, the serum TC and...

A simple, economic, sensitive, precise and accurate UV spectrophotometric method was developed and validated for quantification of Metformin hydrochloride in bulk and in tablet dosage form. Adequate drug solubility and maximum assay sensitivity was found in 0.01N sodium hydroxide at 233nm. Calibration graph constructed at 233nm was linear in concentration range of 1-25μg/ml with correlation coefficient of 0.9998. The method was validated as per ICH guidelines in terms of linearity (within 1-25µg/ml), accuracy (% recovery), precision (inter-day and intraday), specificity and robustness. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were found to be 0.2226µg/ml and 0.6745µg/ml respectively. Therefore, the proposed method is suitable and can be adopted for the determination of Metformin hydrochloride from pharmaceutical dosage form in routine quality control analysis....

The present study of seventy one endophytic fungi isolated from Avicennia marina, Suaeda monica and Rhizophora mucronata plant leaf. Among 34 genera and 71 species was identified by Lactophenol cotton blue mounting techniques. To induce the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNO3) using Aspergillus conicus, Penicillium janthinellum and Phomosis sp. And evaluate their antimicrobial potential. The characterization of silver nano particles on these fungi by FT-IR, UV, and Fre-SEM analysis to confirm the reduction and it is believed that protein might have played an important role in the stabilization of silver nanoparticles. The synthesized AgNO3 were found to be extracellular polydispersed spherical or hexagonal particles ranging from 6-12mm, 8-14mm 10-16mm in size. Antibacterial activity was performed using a Agar well diffusion method against Bacillus subtillus, E-coli, Enterobacter aurogens, Enterococcus, Klebseilla Pneumonia, Micrococus lutes, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococus aureus Streptococcus sp. Vibrio cholera. AgNO3 can be mycosynthesized extracelluraly using A.Conicus, Penicillium janthinellum and Phomosis sp. As the fungal system. Which is highly advantageous over chemical synthesis not only because in can be...
