There are various drugs used in daily life. Some of them show hazardous effect on various organs and some of them shows even lethal effect. Such drugs are required to banned. One of them is Etizolam (marketed under the brand name Sedekopan, Pasaden or Depas) is a drug which is a thiebenzothiodiazepines analog. The aim of this work is done to compare the effect of administration of the etizolam drug at (Zero-day) before incubation and at the (5-day) first week of incubation, to get an idea about the extent of the teratogenic effect of this drug on the development of chick embryo. So that morphological and biochemical studies were done on the chick embryo of 8- and 16-days old chick embryos treated with (0.5mg/ml egg) of etizolam on the (zero and 5-th days) of incubation. The study has been designed to investigate the effect of aqueous extract of rind of Punica granatum in sciatic nerve ligation induced-neuropathic pain in rats. Surgical procedure was performed with sciatic nerve ligation to develop neuropathic pain in rats. The development of neuropathic pain was assessed by employing behaviour parameters such as hyperalgesia and allodynia. Further, the functionality of sciatic nerve was assessed using the histopathological study of myelinated and unmyelinated fibers in sciatic nerve. Moreover, the oxidative stress was assessed by estimating serum thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), catalase, glutathione and tissue TBARS and Superoxide dismutase (SOD). Rats exposed to sciatic nerve ligation produced marked increase in oxidative stress, which was assessed in terms of TBARS and SOD along with decrease in the level of catalase and glutathione. Background: Pharmacists are drug therapy experts and primary health professionals who optimize medication management to produce positive health outcomes. Clearly there are still misconception and confusion among the public on the function of pharmacists. Sometimes even the pharmacy personnel themselves seemed to be unaware of the importance of their profession. Objective: The study tried to assess the attitude of health professionals about the role of pharmacists as a professional. Methodology: A cross sectional study was carried out in Jimma University Specialized hospital on the role of pharmacists within the health sector and in industrial works. A structured pretested questionnaire was distributed to 140 health professionals. Result: 129 questionnaires were returned in a usable form, an overall response rate was 71.67%. Some health professionals (22.66%) still think that pharmacist’s job is only dispensing. In addition, treating minor illness by pharmacists had getting agreement only from 27.91% of health professionals. Especially this practice have strong disagreement from physicians (77.4%). The objective of present study is to determine the permeation of Pregabalin from transdermal patch into microcirculation of skin. Matrix type transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) of Pregabalin was prepared by the solvent evaporation technique. Several batches were prepared by using combination of HPMC and PVP; PVA and PVP; Eudragit RL-100 and Eudragit RS-100; HPMC and EC in different ratios. Propylene glycol was used as plasticizer and DMSO was incorporated as a permeation enhancer. Formulated transdermal patches were charachterised for their physicochemical parameters like thickness, weight variation, flatness, tensile strength, folding endurance, moisture content, moisture uptake and drug content uniformity. Patches were evaluated for their in-vitro drug release profile and ex-vivo skin permeation studies. Penicillium sp. was isolated from the mud volcano of Baratang Island, Andaman, were tested for the growth inhibition against four fungal species of dermatophytes viz., Epidermophyton flococususm, Microsprum gypseum, Tricophyton rubrum, Tricophyton mentagraphytes. Three different concentration of fungal suspension (10µl, 25 µl and50 µl) were tested using disc diffusion method.
