Alzheimer’s (AD) has been the most prevalent kind of dementia, generally producing linguistic and visuospatial deficits, frequently combining comfort ability problems such as apathy, aggression and depression, via the gradual deterioration of the episodic memory and learning. A noteworthy pathophysiological cause is the presence in the neuronal cytoplasm of extracellular plaque of insoluble ß-amyloid Peptide (Aβ) and neurofibrillary (NFT) tangles containing hyperphosphorylated tau protein (P-tau). Genetics could be linked to approximately 70% of the probability of development of AD. In the present study, the efficacy of ethanolic extract of Annona squamosa leaves (ASE) was evaluated against scopolamine-induced Alzheimer in the Wistar albino rat. Donepezil at dose of 2.5 mg/kg, ASE was given in rat at a dose of 100 mg/kg body weight, 200 mg/kg body weight and 300 mg/kg body weight. Anti-Alzheimer activity was assessed by Morris water maze, Novel object recognition test and Y-maze. And by biochemical test like neurotransmitter Acetyl cholinesterase activity, catalase activity, malondialdehyde and Nitric oxide assays. Results showed that extracts treatment prevents Alzheimer and...

The solid lipid nanoparticles are sub-micron colloidal carriers (50-100 nm) that are composed of physiological lipid dispersed in water or in aqueous surfactant solution. Nadolol-loaded SLNs were prepared by modified high shear homogenization. It was observed that all formulations contain a good product yield. The highest drug content was found in formulation F5 98.37%. Entrapment efficiency for formulation F5 (98.58 %) was maximum. F5 formulations have lowest particle size (151.76) and the lowest PDI value (0.12) good Zeta potential (-28.8). The dissolution data of Nadolol solid lipid Nanoparticles F5 formulation was shown maximum drug release at 30 min. i.e., 99.04%. Hence, F5 was concluded as an optimized formulation for solid lipid nanoparticles (Nadolol-loaded SLNs F5 formulation). The present work aimed at preparing oral film with a quick onset of action, which is very convenient for oral administration. Oral fast-dissolving films of Nadolol SLN were prepared using HPMC (E5) as film-forming polymer and PEG 400 as a plasticizer by solvent casting method. Dissolution of prepared oral films of Nadolol was...

A simple, sensitive, specific, precise, and accurate stability-indicating reverse phase liquid chromatographic method was developed to simultaneously determine Artemether and Lumefantrine in bulk drugs and pharmaceutical formulations. The chromatographic analysis was performed by Microsorb MV100-5 C-18 column (250 x 4.6mm, 5 µm), with a mobile phase consisting of buffer and acetonitrile in the ratio of 65:35v/v, orthophosphoric acid used as a buffer (pH 3.5), at a flow rate of 1 ml/min and eluents monitored at 254nm. The method was validated for linearity, accuracy, precision, robustness, and application for assay as per ICH guidelines. The retention times of Artemether and Lumefantrine were 2.67 and 4.62 min, respectively. The calibration curves of peak area versus concentration, which were linear from 530µg/ml for Artemether and 60-210µg/ml for Lumefantrine had a regression coefficient (r2) greater than 0.999 & precise (R.S.D. < 2.0%). The method had the requisite accuracy, precision, and robustness for simultaneous determination of Artemether and Lumefantrine in...

Background: Patients’ drug administration errors are often promoted by poor drug knowledge resulting from inadequate oral or written information. Patients’ insufficient or wrong knowledge regarding the medication they use may vary and probably lead to the incorrect use of the latter, thus causing a decrease in its efficacy or other health problems. Patients’ knowledge enhances active participation in therapy, thus increasing adherence and ultimately leading to better treatment outcomes. The primary aim of this study was to assess the impact of patient medication counseling by comparing the levels of patient’s medication knowledge achieved by medication counseling in an outpatient clinic. Medication errors are at the forefront and common provision of modern healthcare and one of the many hazards of hospitalization. The problem is of multidisciplinary and multifactorial in nature. Medical errors are events that are considered as a threat to patient well-being that should not happen or recur. The medication error is not only clinically significant in many occasions; it has serious economic consequences like extended hospital stays, additional...

Tetradentate Schiff bases are synthesized from o-phenylenediamine, 5-bromo Salicylaldehyde, and 3-Acetyl-6-methyl-pyran-2, 4-dione, and then its colored complexes of Sm (III) and Eu (III) are formed. The structure of ligand and complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, 1H-NMR, mass, IR, UV-visible spectra, and conductometry. TGA/DSC spectral and kinetic parameter of the complexes was studied eagerly. The x-ray diffraction data proposes Tetragonal crystal system for Sm (III) complexes and orthorhombic for Eu (III) complexes. The ligand and their metal complexes were subjected for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa using the agar cup-plate method, and antifungal activity was observed by poison plate method against Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium chrysogenum. The results obtained above are in good agreement with previous findings with respect to the comparative activity of the free ligand and its complexes. The result of an investigation of antimicrobial activity indicates that all the ligands show an inhibitory effect against all the...
