A simple, precise, rapid, linear and economical RP-HPLC method was developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Pregabalin and Etoricoxib in pharmaceutical tablet dosage form. The determination was performed on Phenomenex C18 (250 mm × 4.6 mm, ID, 5µ) column at 30 ºC temperature using a mobile phase Acetonitrile: Water (55:45 %v/v) at a flow rate of 0.8 ml/min was employed. The RP-HPLC detection wavelength was 200 nm and 235 nm for Pregabalin and Etoricoxib, respectively. This method obeys Beers law in employed concentration range 2.4-12 µg/ml and 0.8-4 µg/ml for Pregabalin and Etoricoxib, respectively. The correlation coefficient of Pregabalin and Etoricoxib was found to be 0.9993 and 0.9997, respectively. The retention time was 2.680 and 7.383 minutes. The percentage RSD for accuracy and precision was found to be less than 2%. The method was validated as per ICH guidelines for its selectivity, specificity, system suitability, linearity, range, precision, accuracy, LOD, LOQ, robustness, assay. The method was successfully employed for routine quality control analysis of Pregabalin and Etoricoxib in...

The acute and sub-acute toxicity analysis of Siddha preparation MV kashayam was carried out with Wistar rats as per the guidelines 423 and 407of the Organization for Economic Co‐operation and Development (OECD), respectively. In the acute toxicity study, a single dose of MV kashayam (1000 and 2000 mg/kg body weight) was administered orally to the rats and monitored for 14 days. In the sub-acute toxicity study, rats were orally administered with MV kashayam daily for 28 days at doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg body weight. In both the toxicity study, no rats have exhibited clinical signs of toxicity or mortality, and the doses were well tolerated by rats and no significant change in their mean body weight, food and water intake, haematological, biochemical parameters and his to pathological examinations as compared to that of control group rats. The findings suggest that MV kashayam has a wide margin of safety and a negligible amount of toxicity to ensure the safety and potency of the kashayam, which can be recommended...

Candida sp. is currently associated with nosocomial infection; in this study, we aimed to determine the persistence of Candida auris on inanimate surfaces. Two test surfaces (latex gloves and disposable gown) were inoculated with two strains of Candida auris (clinical Ca1 and environmental H005913). The initial concentration of the inoculum was 108 UFC / mL, sampling was performed by rubbing a sterile swab over the surface, being sampled every 48 h, the micro organisms recovered by means of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry were identified. The persistence of C. auris on gloves surface was 624 h equivalent to 26 days and in disposable gown C. auris clinical 528 h 22 days, C. auris ambient 576 h 24 days; With respect to death kinetics, the values obtained on the glove surface are consistent with the death curve, but unlike disposable gowns, the values were not related to the death curves. According to the results obtained, it is important to manage and control Infections associated with health care since C. auris is a...

This paper focused on research on seaweed contains good nutritional source of protein, carbohydrate, pigments, vitamins, and antioxidants and has low lipid content. The source of natural substances has considered more efficient bio-molecules in building immunity and improving resistance to cancer development, prevent infections were analyzed. Classical biochemical methods were applied for extraction of pigments and other related components from red algae; subsequently, quantities of each substance were determined and discussed its potential properties. Considerable attention has been focused on pigments-based biomaterials attributes antioxidant, antitumor, and immune-modulating properties due to their multi-functional qualities. The fresh solvent extracts of K. alvarezii was found to be rich in total anthocyanin 17 mg/g.f.wt content and vitamin C 21 mg/g.f.wt. Furthermore, the efficient combination treatment with anthocyanin plus vitamin C resulted in better therapeutic efficacy than carboplatin drug against Dalton’s lymphoma tumor. The tumor cell growth was arrested due to the administration of anthocyanin plus vitamin C (500µg/kg body wt. i.p) to tumor-bearing mice; thereby the efficiency of biomolecules was confirmed. The western...

Green synthesis of copper oxide nanocrystals was carried out via hydroxide precipitation using rambutan peel wastes. The successful formation of copper oxide nanocrystals was confirmed by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) analysis. XRD analysis confirms the calculated average crystallite size of higher intense plane peak (111) was 35.74 nm. SEM and TEM show the surface morphology and look flake-shaped. The AFM analysis shows needle formation of CuO nanoparticles. A possible mechanism for the formation of CuO nanocrystals with rambutan peel extract was also proposed. The prepared nanocrystals were coated on the cotton fabric, and their antibacterial activity was analyzed. Both CuO and CuO nanocrystals coated cotton fabric showed good antibacterial activity towards Escherichia coli E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus S. aureus. Wash durability test was carried out on the test fabrics showed that the significant antimicrobial activity was actively retained in the fabrics treated with CuO...
