The fabrication of spherical gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using the reducing agent and stabilizing agent Coccinia grandis is reported here. Irradiation of the reaction mixture under a domestic microwave oven enabled the formation of gold nanoparticles. The successful formations of AuNPs were characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray powder diffraction and transmission electronic microscopy (TEM). Chemical components are inherent in the leaf extract which reduces the gold were identified using FTIR Spectra. The crystal structure of the AuNPs was established as a face-centered cube by the Powder XRD analysis. TEM results suggested that under optimized synthetic conditions monodispersed and spherical nanoparticles with an average diameter of 10 ± 2 nm could be achieved. The nanoparticles effectively showed catalytic activity for the reduction of environmental pollution causing methylene blue dye. The study concludes that the synthesized nanoparticles could be considered as environmental protectants due to its potent catalytic...

Anti-HIV drug discovery has been increasingly focusing on HIV-1- reverse transcriptase as a potential therapeutic target. Pyrimidine-based derivatives are studied for their HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibition activities using in-silico techniques. The library of 19 pyrimidine-based derivatives designed using computer-based molecule designed software and docked with HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme using AutoDock. The reported binding energies for the library of molecules are ranging from –9.43Kcal/mole to -13.19 Kcal/mole, with the precision of ±1 Kcal/mole. It is concluded that the presence of –CH2OH at R1 position suitable for hydrogen bonding and –C6H5 group enhance the negative binding energy (ΔG...

This approach was launched to evaluate the application of ultrasound waves for the preparation of 99mTc-Octreotide radio conjugate sample. The 740MBq (20 mCi) of 99mTc-Octreotide samples were prepared by the boiling water bath (standard) or ultrasound irradiation methods. The stability of samples in normal saline and human serum albumin was investigated. The partition coefficient and protein bonding of samples were determined. The radioisotope analysis was undertaken to assess the biodistribution of radiotracer samples in rats. The data obtained from this approach revealed that the 99mTc-Octreotide samples were successfully prepared by the newly developed technique. Statistically significant differences have not been observed in the stability, partition coefficient and protein bonding of radiotracer samples which were prepared by either of the two above-mentioned. The radioisotope analysis showed that the applied method for radiolabeling did not lead to a significant difference in the biodistribution pattern of radiotracer samples in rats. Green chemistry can be recommended for the radiolabeling of Octreotide with 99mTc as an alternative and reliable modality for the boiling water...

Guanidines were prepared by the condensation reaction of primary amine (-NH2) with urea derivatives (R2NCONR2) in the presence of POCl3. In this research guanidine-pyridine, hybrid derivatives were synthesized by substituted urea derivatives namely 1,1,3,3-tetramethylurea and N, N′-dimethylurea with 2-aminopyridine. The metal complexes were obtained by reaction of metal(II) chloride with guanidine ligands in the molar ratio 1:1 and 1:2 (M:L). The structure of synthesized compounds was assessed by nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Visible) mass spectroscopy studies and molar conductance. The measured molar conductance values indicated that the complexes were non-electrolytic. An octahedral geometry is proposed for the cobalt complexes but, square-planar geometry is suggested for both copper and nickel complexes. The synthesized compounds were also subjected to antibacterial study. Evaluation of antibacterial activities indicated that the metal complexes more inhibited the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria strains as compared to the parent ligands. Among all the metal complexes the CuL2′ showed highest antibacterial activity with zone inhibition diameter of 29 mm and MIC value of...

Neem (Azadirachta indica) is a member of the Meliaceae family and its role as the health-promoting effect is attributed because it is a rich source of potent biochemicals. It has been widely used in Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Unani medicines worldwide especially in Indian Subcontinent in the treatment and prevention of various diseases. In this present study’s author being investigated and identified biochemically active components in ether and methanolic extracts of stem bark of Azadirachta indica collected from the nursery of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. The stem of the plant washed with water and methanol; dried plant material was successively extracted with petroleum ether at 34 ºC by Soxhlet apparatus for 72 h. The chemical formulas, double band equivalence and percentage of occurrence of the compounds have been elucidated with Fourier Transform Mass spectrometry with ESI detector in the negative mode as well as positive mode. The Instrument was run in full mode m/z (50-1000). METLIN database was used to identify the compounds. Many compounds were identified...
