The 2-aminobenzothiazole moiety and its derivatives have immense importance in medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry as a potent biologically active molecules. The synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazole derivatives carried out from substituted phenyl thiourea which is synthesized by substituted aniline in ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium) bisulphate ([BMIM] + [HSO4]–), (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium) tetrafluoroborate ([BMIM] + [BF4]–) and (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium) hexafluorophosphate ([BMIM] + [PF6]–). Further N-alkylation at amino group of synthesized 2-aminobenzothiazoles was carried out with alcohol using conc. H2SO4 and Schiff bases are also prepared by reaction of substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles and aromatic aldehydes. ILs are green alternate of volatile organic solvents and they are beneficiary environmentally and economically. The reactivity, reaction rate and yield were enhanced by using ILs and the products were recovered by simple filtration. 2-N-alkylaminobenzothiazoles and Schiff base derivatives are very important structural units in many medicinal compounds. The synthesized compounds can show many biological activities like antitumor, antimicrobial and anti analgesic. The characterization of synthesized compounds was done by elemental and spectral...

Improper diet can affects the brain and can increase the risk for mental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases like autism. Dietary modification can sometime be helpful to children with autism. The present study examined the effects of a high lipid diet on orally administered ampicillin -induced neurotoxic rats and compared with propionic acid models of autism. Forty young male western albino rats were divided into four equal groups. The first group served as the control; the second group was given an oral neurotoxic dose of propionic (PA) (250 mg/kg body weight/day) for three days. The third group received an orogastric dose of ampicillin (50mg/kg for three weeks) with a standard diet. Groups 4 was given an orogastric dose of ampicillin and fed with high-lipid diets, for 10 weeks. The possible effects of ampicillin (Amp) in presence of high lipid diet on selected neurotransmitters (5HT, DA, NA, glutamate and glutamine) and a cytokine IL-6 were tested and compared with the neurotoxic effect of propionic acid (PA). The results show a significant...

The present study aimed at to study the antioxidant and anticancer activity of ethyl acetate extract and nanoparticles synthesized from Curculigo orchioides. The ethyl acetate extract andnanoparticle synthesized from C. orchioides were used in various antioxidant assays such as DPPH, hydroxyl radicals, hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide radical scavenging activities. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was characterized by UV-Vis spectro-photometer, X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The maximum growth inhibitory effects (66.12% and 71.28%) on MCRF-7 cell line were observed in ethyl acetate extract and nanoparticle at 80µg/ml concentration after 48 hr...

Background: Pharmacy is an important profession in Jordan whereby it plays a vital role in providing the pharmaceutical services required for the health care of patients and it is an effective factor in the economy and development of the nation. Therefore, it is important to focus on the relationship between pharmacists and their customers through providing high quality pharmaceutical services. Objectives: The current study aimed at investigating the level of pharmaceutical services quality in Jordan and its effect on building a strong relationship between pharmacists and their customers “from the pharmacists’ perspective”, through customers’ perceived value, satisfaction, loyalty and CRM. Methods: This study is a descriptive and analytical one. A self-administrated questionnaire was distributed to a convenience sample of 110 pharmacists working in public pharmacies, to measure the impact of pharmaceutical services quality on building relationship with customers. Results: There is a statistically significant effect of pharmaceutical services quality on building a strong relationship between pharmacists and their customers at level (α=0.05) from one dimension (Responsiveness). There is a...

The study was undertaken to investigate and compare in vitro anti inflammatory activities of five varieties of hexane and methanol seed extracts each, specifically Artocarpus heterophyllus, Artocarpus integrifolia, Artocarpus hirsitus, Artocarpus inciscus and Artocarpus integer of Artocarpus species belonging to the family Moraceae by means of most prominent membrane stability assay. Results revealed that, the percentage of membrane stability exhibited by the test samples were concentration dependent and compared constructively with that of standard Diclofenac. Amongst two extracts methanolic seed extracts had highest percentage of inhibition and in both extracts Artocarpus integer had uppermost membrane stabilization capacity. The statistical analysis with student ‘t’ test showed significant difference for tested factors in between hexane and methanolic seed extract groups. The study disclosed that Artocarpus seed extracts could be seen as a potential natural source of membrane stabilizer and was capable of providing an alternative remedy for the management and source of membrane stabilizer and further studies were suggested to isolate the active principles responsible for the...
