Transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) provides a leading edge over injectables and oral routes by increasing patient compliance and avoiding the first-pass metabolism respectively. Transdermal delivery not only provides controlled, constant administration of the drug, but also allows continuous input of drugs with short biological half-lives and eliminates pulsed entry into the systemic circulation, which often causes undesirable side effects. The oral route of transdermal drug delivery enables avoidance in gastrointestinal absorption. One of the greatest innovations of novel drug delivery in transdermal patch skin adhesion is the most important functional properties for a TDDS. Poor adhesion results in improper dosing of patients and potential accidental dosing of patients, who may pick up fallen patches. The adhesive of the TDDS is critical to the safety, efficacy, and quality of the product. Drug therapy may be terminated rapidly by the removal of the application from the surface of the skin. This article provides a framework for scientific work to improve transdermal adhesive performance and provides an overview of types of...

Mushroom extracts such as proteins, amino acids, polysaccharides and vitamins implicated as the reducing, stabilizing and capping agents in synthesis of myconanoparticles. Therefore, it is just a little attempt to study the journalism of this important of myconanoparticle. For this literature survey, basically library data was collected and digital resources were also included. From these sources we obtained reliable information about diverse nanoparticle synthesis from different mushroom species. Myconanotechnology is used in numerous medical applications like diagnosis of various diseases, therapeutic field and other applications like catalysis of bio molecules, microelectronics, biosensing devices, air and water purifiers and paints. Studies by different researchers specify that myconanoparticles possesses various pharma-cological activities such as antimicrobial activity, anticancer activity, anti-proliferative activity, and various other effects like antioxidant activity, cellular uptake, catalytic activity etc. There are many literatures demonstrating the various global uses of myconanoparticles. Till date very inadequate information is available from different sources so, we try to assemble this information in one review article. This review article gives an account of...

The Siddha System of Medicine is one of the most ancient traditional medical systems was popular in the ancient Southern part of India. In this system, the herbals, metals, minerals and animal products have been used to prepare the medicines for treating diverse illness. Siddha medicines are divided into inner drug treatments and external drug treatments. Agathiyar Kuzhambu is one among the 32 internal medicines contains 11 ingredients which has a vast area of indications. Agathiyar kuzhambu is mainly used as purgative medicine. But its action changes widely based on the adjuvant or vehicles used along with it. Being an internal medicine, it not only shows its action internally but also externally. Its external applications sometimes act surprisingly and effectively which gives evidence for its therapeutic action mentioned in the literature. This review describes the phytochemicals and medicinal uses of the part of each ingredient used in this formulation. Ingredients of the formulation and their pharmacological action in various research studies are discussed in this...

This article reveals a detailed review of important constitutes of herbal drugs which will be useful to treat various types of cancer. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in both developed and developing countries as the number of mortalities is increasing day-by-day and year after year. Herbal drugs have contributed for the discovery of new anticancer drugs due to conventional cancer therapies cause’s serious side effects. Therefore, the fear of side effects patient prefer to use of herbal drugs or compound isolated from the medicinal plants for cancer treatment. An ideal phytochemical is one that possesses anti-tumor properties with minimal toxicity, side effects and has a defined mechanism of action. Several anticancer agents including taxol, vinblastine, vincristine, the camptothecin derivatives, topotecan, irinotecan, and etoposide derived from epipodophyllotoxin are in clinical use all over the world. A number of promising agents such as flavopiridol, roscovitine, combretastatin A-4, betulinic acid, silvestrol, apigenin, curcumin, fisetin, and crocetin are in preclinical or clinical development...

Nowadays, Hospital-acquired infection is one of the significant issues, as the mortality rate is frequently increasing. This may be due to the unhygienic environment of various medical clinics and hospitals, a wide range of antibiotic uses. Nosocomial infections are those which are acquired by the patient within 48-72 h or 3 days of admission in the hospital or medical care unit. The microbes cause nosocomial infections originated in hospitals, clinics, and medical care center. The mode of transfer of hospital-acquired infection can be either by direct or by indirect contact. Vectors involve the organisms that act as a carrier for the spread of disease by dispersion of causative pathogens. Cockroaches, ants, and flies come in direct contact with faces of the patient, and contaminated objects can cause disease by cross-contamination of other objects which can lead to infection. Nosocomial infection can be prevented by minimizing the spread of causative agents, isolation for the patient suffering from infectious disease and maintaining well sanitary conditions in hospitals and medical care unit....
