A phytoestrogen is a natural plant hormone similar to the female hormone oestrogen. Eating dietary phytoestrogen, improve the health standard of women by producing and regulating oestrogen level in the body. Materials and Methods: A study was done to evaluate the effects of plant phytoestrogen in the form of soya milk on the quality of life of 125 healthy postmenopausal women. Following the consent process, the participants were randomly allocated into control and the intervention group. Intervention group participants received 200 mL of homemade soya milk for a period of six weeks and the control group participants did not receive any intervention. Gujarat has the second largest mangrove ecosystem in India, and mangrove ecosystems are known for their extreme environments and hence extremophiles that can produce novel enzymes can be found in these extreme environments. In this study, ninety-three bacterial isolates were obtained in pure cultures from soil samples collected from Kandla, Mundra and Tuna of the Kutch region of Gujarat in the winter season. These isolates were plate-screened for their ability to produce six extracellular enzyme activities using their respective methods in order to find new isolates for their possible applications. Six enzymes amylase, lipase, protease, cellulase, oxidase, and catalase were mostly present in these isolates. The isolates were also screened for their ability to produce the bioplastic Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). Further, these isolates were tested for their ability to survive at different salinity levels. To examine the antioxidant property of ethanolic extract of roots of Smilax china (EESC) on Aluminium Chloride Induced oxidative stress in Wistar rats. The phytoconstituents are extracted from the roots of S. china using ethanol, by hot continuous percolation method. The rats were divided into 5 groups (6 animals/ group) and treated with EESC (150 & 300 mg/kg of body weight) and piracetam (0.5 mg/kg of body weight) for 14 days after inducing oxidative stress with AlCl3 (100 mg/ kg of body weight) for 60 days. The lipid peroxidation level (TBARS) and antioxidants activities like Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Catalase (CAT), and Glutathione (GSH) were estimated. When compared with the control group, AlCl3 induced rats showed increased TBARS and decreased antioxidant enzymes like Catalase (CAT), Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and reduced glutathione (GSH).
