The present study discussed the nutritional content and quantification of eleven bioactive phenolic antioxidant contents in the water, methanol and acetone extracts of four different edible fruits viz. Musa acuminate (banana), Ananascomosus (pineapple), Psidiumguajava (guava) and Malusdomestica (apple) using HPLC-DAD. Nutritional analysis showed that the most moisture and fiber-containing fruit was guava where as banana had the lowest amount. On the other hand banana had the highest percentage of protein and carbohydrate whereas guava had the lowest percentage. The result showed that the antioxidant content determined by HPLC was varied in the water, methanol and acetone extracts of these fruits. Leaves, rootstock, fruit and decoction of Lasia spinosa (Araceae) are used in folklore medicine for Gastrointestinal, Respiratory and Skin diseases. The intent of the present study was to evaluate the Antihyperlipidemic activity of methanolic leaves extract of Lasia spinosa and for its role in the prevention of hyperlipidemia induced pancreatitis in rats. The evaluation of the Antihyperlipidemic activity and the role of Lasia spinosa in the prevention of hyperlipidemia induced pancreatitis were done by means of Cholesterol 100 mg/kg body weight, p.o, induced hyperlipidemic model and Triton-X 100 (480 mg/kg, b.w; i.p.) induced hyperlipidemic model. The biochemical parameters such as Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL-C, HDL-C, VLDL-C, Serum Amylase, Serum Lipase and WBC Count were estimated to appraise its activity. Bone marrow aspiration can determine the metastatic deposits, degree of cellularity and fibrosis readily. A retrospective analysis of bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, in children and adult patients with hematological anomalies, were performed in 674 cases for different indication of hematological abnormalities from January 2013 to March 2014. Cases were analyzed in detail regarding clinical, hematological examination and family history. The mean age of the patients was 38.03 years ranging from 2 years to 78 years. Among 674 cases, 58.16 percent cases were male and 41.84 percent were female with sex ratio of 1.4:1. The commonest clinical & physical symptoms were pallor (87.5%), followed by weakness & headache (47.9%) and fever (37.9%). The most frequent malignant hematological anomalies in children (99.9%) and adults (50.49%) were acute leukemia, followed by multiple myeloma (17.82%) in adults only.
