Swertia chirata Buch Ham (Gentianaceae) commonly known as chiratais a perennial herb. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the immunomodulatory effect of methanolic extract of S. chirata aerial part on Swiss albino mice. Haemagglutination Test (Humoral antibody response) and Delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) response test and were done to investigate the effect of methanolic extract of S. chirata on humoral and cell mediated immunity responses and flow cytometric studies for the estimation of T lymphocytes (CD3 and CD19) and Th1 cytokines (IL-2, IFN-γ and IL-4). Levamisole and Cyclophosphamide were used as immunostimulatory and immunosuppressive standard drugs. The methanolic extract of S. chirata showed dose related decrease in primary and secondary antibody response and Delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) response with the maximum decrease at 200 mg kg-1 b wt (primary antibody response- 5.41±0.24, secondary antibody response- 5.39±0.19 and DTH response- 0.62±0.05). Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the smallest virus in the world. HPV is a non-enveloped double-stranded circular DNA virus, which can widely infect human skin and reproductive tract and respiratory epithelium. HPV also has a close relationship with benign and malignant tumors. There is no universal HPV treatment. Although there is a vaccine called Gardasil that can prevent some diseases caused by HPV, it is not recommended for everyone and does not eliminate the chance of getting other types of HPV. Thus, the aim of the present study is to design a subunit vaccine against HPV using bioinformatics approaches. In order to achieve our objective, we have used B-cell and T-cell epitope prediction methods. The aim of the study is to evaluate the diagnostic DNA profiles of the assessment of semen analysis data with respect to male fertility potential. Seman analysis taken form 50 patients of known fertility and 50 suspended infertility were studied by conventional semen analysis by suitable methods. The acridine orange test was used to assess the integrity of sperm DNA. The data throw doubt upon the validity of an approach based on the number of deviations for the normal standard values defined by the WHO. The alternative approach as specific semen characteristics (particularly morphology) as the major predictor of fertility produced no beneficial results. The means of sperm concentration in fertile males was significantly higher than infertile males (62.7±18.7 million vs. 36.7±25.40 million). Total sperm motility of fertile males also was significantly higher compared to infertile (56.32±0.07% vs. 28.8±10.7%). Normal sperm morphology of fertile males was also significantly higher compared to infertile (24.5±8% vs. 12.87±4.6%).
