An in-vitro thrombolytic model was used to check the clot lysis effect of four herbal extracts viz., Honey, Nigella sativa, Capsicum frutescens, Brassica oleracea, combination of Honey & Nigella sativa and Honey & Capsicum frutescens along with Streptokinase as a positive control and water as a negative control. And also brine shrimp lethality bio-assay was done using brine shrimp Nauplii and 5% of DMSO as a solvent for the ethanol extracts of Nigella sativa & Capsicum frutescens and Honey. Using an in vitro thrombolytic model, Honey, Nigella sativa, Capsicum frutescens, Brassica oleracea, combination of Honey & Nigella sativa and Honey & Capsicum frutescens showed 26.82%, 47.13%, 57.40%, 62.44%, 56.58% and 44.54% clot lysis effect respectively. From our study, we found that Brassica oleracea, Capsicum frutescens, and combination of Honey & Nigella sativa showed significant % of clot lysis effect with reference to Streptokinase. The quality of education offered by Pharmacy institutions in the country varies widely. There are only a few institutions which maintain internationally recognized standard. A survey was conducted on the one hundred and twenty four (124) undergraduate Pharmacy students to determine their awareness and inclination towards Pharmacy as a career choice. Students were evaluated for the perception on their education and to share ideas for its improvement. A questionnaire survey that explored their attitudes and views towards the Pharmacy profession was chosen for this study. Based on the evaluated data from questionnaire, the student’s perception towards Pharmacy education was seems to be very poor and survey also revealed poor inclination towards pharmacy as a profession. Student’s perception on scope and contribution was found to be unsatisfactory. Student’s learning tools, teaching methods and evaluation system were found unexpressive to the pharmacy students. In vitro dissolution of ten brands of diclofenac sodium sustained release matrix tablets were studied to determine the effect of fruit juice in the bioavailability of diclofenac. Acebrophylline is a bronchodilator with mucosecrytolytic and anti-inflammatory activity. It is used to treat the bronchial asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. This work is based on the formulation and optimization of time dependant pulsatile release tablets of Acebrophylline having adequate mechanical strength of tablet and proper drug release of tablet. Pulsatile drug delivery system has an advantage as delivers the drug at right place, right time and right quantity. The crucial aspect in the formulation of pulsatile drug delivery system is to release the drug as pulse after a lag time has to be designed in such a way that rapid and complete drug release follows after lag time. Background and Objective: Malaria, a formidable global parasitic infection represent a major health problem in tropical countries in terms of geographical spread, high morbidity, severe mortality especially among children. This study investigated platelet function’s role and its strength to make platelet factor 3 (PF-3) available for coagulation in children with cerebral malaria. Subjects and Methods: Packed cell volume, platelet aggregate, platelet count and platelet factor-3 were studied in 65 children with, cerebral malaria and 50 healthy control children (Both group were aged 1-9 years). Results: Packed cell volume, platelet count were significantly lower (P<0.01) in children with malaria and platelet factor-3 was significantly higher (P<0.01) in children with cerebral malaria compared to normal children (controls). There was no significant level of platelet aggregate between children with cerebral malaria and control.
