Objective: To Evaluate hypoglycemic effect of Roflumilast in streptozotocin induced diabetic albino wistar rats. Materials and Methods: 18 albino rats were divided into 3 groups each group containing 6 animals, Group-1 (Diabetic Control): Distilled water 10ml, Group-2 (Standard): Glibenclamide 1.35mg, Group-3 (Test): Roflumilast 0.045mg/kg. A freshly prepared solution of Streptozotocin (45mg/kg body weight) in 0.1ml citrate buffer, pH 4.5 was injected intraperitoneally in a volume of 1ml/kg body weight to overnight fasted rats. After 48 hours of STZ administration, rats with moderate diabetes were selected for the experiment. A base line Capillary Blood Glucose was checked just before giving streptozotocin. All along the course of study animals were provided with water and food ad libitum. On the 3rd day animals were evaluated for the diabetic status by checking CBG. Only diabetic rats were used for further study. They were given above drugs for a period of 28 days starting from 3rd day after giving streptozotocin. Blood glucose levels and body weight were measured on 0, 7th, 14th, 21st and...

Although technologies are emerging day to day and bioinformatics is also growing with number of databases developed, but being a very important factor in cancer invasion and metastasis, MMPs have no exclusive database. Matrix Metallo-Protienase (MMP) is a major class of proteolytic enzymes that plays a dominant role in ECM degradation. Every time researchers are searching and gathering information from different places and next researcher repeating the same. In this study we developed a database exclusively designed for the MMPs and their...

This study aimed to evaluation of healing potential of Sambucus ebulus in full-thickness wound model in rats. A dorsal skin wound was created in rats. The 5% ointment applied to the wound area once a day for 12 days. Healing process was compared histologically between the groups. Parameters of wound healing were evaluated in the wound area. Extract improved wound contraction and closure. Histopathology study certified an organization of wound tissues. Extract reduced the number of inflammatory cells, increased wound-healing rate, epithelialization and significantly improved collagen formation. Granulation tissue formation was more organized when compared with control groups. S. ebulus showed positive effects on wound healing process and improved healing...

Adenosine has been proposed as a key factor regulating the metabolic balance between energy supply and demand in skeletal muscle. Adenosine A2B receptors are expressed across multiple tissues including skeletal muscle. Previously, it has been identified the robust (in vitro) induction of the nuclear receptors (NR4A) subgroup following adenosine A2B receptors stimulation in rat skeletal muscle cells. This may be concomitant with changes in the expression of genes involved in the regulation of nutrient metabolism. Considering that skeletal muscle is a primary tissue responsible for glucose disposal, glucose oxidation and insulin resistance, this study investigated a potential functional role for adenosine A2B receptors in rat L6 skeletal muscle myotubes in terms of glycolysis (HKII and PFK), and insulin resistance/glucose oxidation (PDK4) using a transcriptional approach (QRT-PCR (Probe-based)). For the first time in rat skeletal muscle cells, the results of the present study have shown that stable adenosine analogue NECA alters the expression of a number of genes (HKII, and PFK). Moreover, this is the first study demonstrating that selective...

Back ground: Use of proper analgesics as adjuvant to balanced anaesthesia can calm the patient, reduce stress and decrease the need of higher doses of inhalation agents. Some examples of analgesics are opioids, NSAIDS, NDMA receptor antagonists (ketamine). Nalbuphine is a synthetic opioid agonist-antagonist analgesic of the phenantherene series. We conducted this study with the aim to observe the effect of nalbuphine as an adjuvant to balanced anaesthesia on intra operative hemodynamics and analgesic requirement in perioperative period. Material and method: prospective, observational study was carried out in 70 adult patient of ASA grade II -III, aged 18 to 60 years, undergoing otolaryngorhinological surgeries. After informed consent patients were given routine premedication given with inj. Nalbuphine 0.1 mg/kg i.v. General anaesthesia was given and subsequent 1/5th doses of the drug administered at every 30 minutes intra operatively. Intra operative hemodynamic monitoring was done. In post-operative period inj. Diclofenac 1.5 mg/kg i.m as a rescue analgesic was given when VAS score was ≥ 4. Observation results: Maximum rise in pulse...
