L-Glutaminase (EC.3.5.1.2) is an amidohydrolase which catalyses the hydrolytical deamination of L-glutamine resulting in the production of L-glutamic acid and ammonia. L-Glutaminase is gaining marked importance due to its application potential in cancer therapy, food industry and of high value chemicals like theronine. A variety of microorganisms, including bacteria, yeast, and filamentous fungi, from both soil and marine habitat have been reported to produce L-glutaminase .The optimization of L-glutaminase using one of the prominent bacterial isolate (NRBT2822) in batch mode of cultivation showed that a pH of 7.0, temperature of 37°C and agitation rate of 150 rpm are most suitable parameters for maximum enzyme synthesis in presence of 1.0 g/L of L-glutamine as an inducer. The kinetic studies revealed that the Km and Vmax for the enzyme were 66.83 mM and 0.755 mM/min respectively. Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the major problems encountered by nearly 15 % of diabetic patients. Combinations of different antibiotics are used to treat the infection which makes the microorganism multi drug resistant. Among various types of drug delivery system, transdermal drug delivery is preferred in treating DFU because it delivers the drug directly to the wound site, which increases the rate of healing. Terminalia chebula (King of medicine) is known to possess wound healing ability and high antimicrobial activity against almost all bacteria isolated from DFU. In this scenario, we have fabricated different combinations of drug loaded composite films of cellulose acetate and chitosan. The formulated films were characterized using UV-visible and FT-IR spectrophotometer. Physicochemical characterization of the films was done with respect to drug uniformity, moisture uptake, folding endurance, drug release and antimicrobial studies. The present work reports a prospective observational study to determine perioperative usage pattern of analgesics. Both general and regional anaesthesia and also different analgesics which is most effective to manage post operative pain were used. 120 patients were studied randomly as per criteria. Techniques of anaesthesia, pre, peri& post operative vitals and pain scores were noted in selected time interval. Pain score recorded 0-3 as mild, 4-6 as moderate & 7-10 as severe. Of all the analgesics administered in peri & postoperative period, Fentanyl (F) alone & in combination with diclofenac (D) were used maximum in perioperative period. These two groups were compared. In postoperative GA cases, majority patients received paracetamol (P) and tramadol (T) and in regional blocks, Pethidine (PE) Phenergan (PH) combination & tramadol were used. These groups werecompared to evaluate pain perception. Fentanyl alone found to be more effectivein maintaining hemodynamic stability. In fentanyl-diclofenac combination, pulse rate and blood pressure were higher than fentanyl alone. Pain scores were significantly higher in GA compared to regional blocks....

Helminthes infections are more common in poor countries where people suffer from poor health hygiene and sanitation, though there are lot of marketed drugs available for these disease but the interesting thing about antihelminthics is that they are either pypirazine or benzimidazole derivatives, so as medicinal chemist the attention will be drawn towards these different moieties which exert same biological action, in this present work five derivatives of piperazine were synthesized by conventional methods using two schemes, by scheme 1 three compounds were synthesized which were Bis benzyl derivatives of pierazine and by scheme 2 already prepared piperazine 2,5 di one was reacted with benzimidazole derivatives to yield finally two benzimidazole linked piperazine derivatavies and these two different classes of piperazine deiatives were screened for antihelminthic activity against Pheretima posthuma to compare their potency in context of calculating paralyzing and death time. Travoprost and Timolol Maleate are used in treatment of glaucoma by decreasing intra ocular pressure. The present study was designed to develop and validate a simple, sensitive, precise, and specific reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for simultaneous determination of Travoprost and Timolol maleate in ophthalmic dosage form. Chromatographic separation of these two drugs was achieved on Hypersil BDS C18 column (250 x 4.6 mm, 5 μm) as stationary phase with a mobile phase Water (pH2 adjusted with OPA): Methanol (85:15% v/v) at a flow rate of 0.8 ml/min and PDA detection at 233 nm. The method was carried out at 40oC. The retention times of Timolol maleate and Travoprost were found to be 2.48±0.01 min, 5.10±0.1min respectively. The proposed method was validated for system suitability, linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD, LOQ and robustness.
