Neuroprotection is utmost necessary due to the devastating neuronal injuries, including neurodegenerative disorders. N. sativa L. is called the Miracle herb due to its wide usage in traditional systems of medicine, especially Arabic. This plant has been studied for its therapeutic potential and found to possess a wide spectrum of activities, including anticancer and antioxidant properties. The present work is designed to investigate the acetylcholinesterase inhibitory and cytotoxic potential of various grades of black cumin oil for its neuroprotective activity. Thymoquinone is the most pharmacologically active ingredient found in black cumin oil. The various grades of black cumin containing 5%, 2% and 0.6% thymoquinone at different dose levels is used throughout this work. Acetylcholinesterase inhibitory is performed by using Ellman’s method, and the cytotoxic potential is evaluated by using Sulforhodamine B assay employing IMR-32, U373-MG, and SK-N-SH cell lines. Black cumin oil containing 5% thymoquinone showed a dose-dependent increase in the acetylcholinesterase inhibition (64.47% inhibition at the dose of 20 µg/ml) which is similar to that of the standard...

Nanoparticles speak to one of the appealing choices in the compelling treatment of tumor chemo-treatment. In the present work, definition, and improvement of a novel Cetuximab (MTX)- stacked biodegradable nanoparticles utilizing poly(D, L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) was done. Nanoparticles stacked with anticancer operators can effectively build sedate focus in malignancy tissues and furthermore act at the cell level, improving antitumor viability. These medication conveyance frameworks enhance bioavailability by improving fluid solvency, expanding protection time in the body and focusing on medication to a particular area in the body. The arranged nanoparticles were assessed for physicochemical properties, for example, molecule measure, zeta potential, discharge thinks about, and so forth. Molecule size of the upgraded definition was < 200 nm. Our essential outcomes exhibit that the created Cetuximab-stacked PLGA nanoparticles are discharging the medication for the delayed timeframe. The goal behind the work is to contemplate the impact of definition factors on the molecule estimate, sedate exemplification and % aggregate medication arrival of...

In this study, we investigated anti-cancer and antimicrobial activity of Aegle marmelos leaf extracts and their chemical profile characterized by gas chromatography coupled mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A. marmelos leaves were extracted with acetone, methanol, ethanol, and chloroform. Presence of phenolic compounds was identified in these extracts by qualitative analysis. All the extracts were subjected for anti-bacterial activity against the different strains of bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus ariyabattai, Bacillus megaterium, Pseudomonas putida, Klebsiella pneumonia, Serratia marcescens, and Escherichia coli). It is noteworthy that acetone extract elicited maximum growth inhibition on Serratia marcescens. Based on profound anti bacterial activity, acetone and methanol extract of A. marmelos were checked for cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231, HEp-2 and vero cells. MDA-MB-231 cells were more sensitive to acetone extract of A. marmelos with an IC50 value of 79.62 µg/ml where as HEp-2 cells are more sensitive to methanol extract of A. marmelos with an IC50 value of 47.08 µg/ml. Vero cells withstand 24 h treatment of both extract, and it is evidenced...

Aztreonam, a synthetic beta-lactam antibiotic is widely used for the treatment of infections in lungs, meninges, bladder, etc. Its potential use in the treatment of pneumonia and cystic fibrosis has been established. Recently FDA has approved Cayston® for inhalation therapy of Aztreonam in lungs infection. Many studies have been reported on the quantitative determination of Aztreonam by UV spectrophotometric and HPLC method. The present study focuses on the quantitative spectrophotometric determination of Aztreonam in two simulated lungs fluid namely artificial lysosomal fluid (ALF) and gamble solution. The λmax was found at a wavelength of 293 nm for both the solutions. Further, the method developed was validated for its linearity, precision by interday and within day study, accuracy, specificity, robustness and determination of limit of quantification and limit of detection in both the solutions. The linearity demonstrated a correlation coefficient of 0.9995 and 0.9999 in ALF and gamble solution respectively. The LOD was found to be 0.38 µg/ml and 0.18 µg/ml for ALF and gamble solution respectively. The LOQ was...

When a high amplitude nanosecond electric field applied to a biological cell it disrupts the equilibrium of the phospholipid bilayer resulting in the permeability of the cell membrane to increase. This results in movement of extracellular material into the cell which otherwise cannot move inside the cell. This phenomenon is known as electroporation. In the initial years of research people concentrated on to find out the process which leads to the above phenomenon, but till now it is not proved theoretically / mathematically the complete theoretical background about the process. In recent years with the help of new fundamental knowledge and the latest experimental electroporation researchers can shift the technologies based on electroporation for clinical validations. In this paper, we have discussed regarding the theories of electroporation and also regarding the usages of electroporation in medical technologies. We have also discussed the challenges to be faced and the research barriers to make this technology on the...
