Malaria remains one of deadly diseases in Indonesia which mainly occurred in Tobelo, North Halmahera. Genetic factor is one of significant factors where the gene acting in protein and enzyme coding influences the drug pharmacokinetics. However, no studies have been carried out on the pharmacokinetics of anti-malaria of primaquine in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to know the kinetic profile of primaquine combination in the uncomplicated falciparum malaria, the relation of drug content and parasite clearance, and its pharmacological effects. Random clinical tests were conducted with experimental method to 12 patients RSUD Tobelo, North Halmahera from September to December, 2014. Blood samples were taken sequentially starting from day 0 to day 28, and then thick blood drop, liver function, kidney function, leucocyte, erythrocyte and hemoglobin were tested, The samples were then tested to measure the kinetic concentration of by using LCMS as well as analyzing the parameters of its pharmacokinetics. The results showed that the kinetic the primaquine kinetics synergized well and it was mutually complementing where...

A new flavone glycoside 1 m. p. 223-225ºC, m. f. C34H42O20, [M+] 770 (FABMS) has been isolated from the stems of Taraxacum Officinal weber along with one known compound Taxifolin. A compound 1 was characterized as 6, 4′-dimethoxy-5, 7-dihydroxy-flavone- 7 – O – a – L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1®4) – O – β – D xylopyranosyl-(1®4)-O-β-D-glucopyranoside by various chemical degradations and spectral...

The present paper deals with the analysis of methane sulfonic acid, benzene sulfonic acid and camphor sulfonic acid counter anions in pharmaceutical ingredients (doxazosin mesylate, amlodipine besylate and clopidogrel camphor sulfonate) by suppressed conductivity anion chromatography. The diluent used for the preparation of sample solution was Milli-Q Water and injected into a standard chromatographic system connected with 250 mm length, 4.0 mm ID, 5.0 µm particle size, Metrosep A Supp1 column and suppressed conductivity detector. The developed analytical method was highly precise and accurate compared to titration methods and HPLC-UV detection methods to analyze counter ions in drug substance. Calibration curves were linear with correlation coefficient of > 0.999 for anions. The % RSD of area response of anions in standard injections was below 2.0, which demonstrates the method precision of the test procedure. The accuracy of the method was also studied and observed between 97% and 102%. The developed method was validated according to ICH guidelines for the quantitative determination of anions in API taken for the...

Conventional chemotherapy drugs show lack of specificity, including reduced activity on cancer treatment with higher toxicity to normal cells and develop resistance after prolonged period of administration. Recently, to nullify all adverse effects of cancer chemotherapy nanometer sized carriers came into role for total cure. The advanced research community is focused on smart drug delivery system owing to their vivid biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. This article will provide an in-depth discussion on development of smart nanosized carriers for tumors targeting and highlight important role of QDs in highly challenging area of...

Aim: The objective of the present research work was to formulate and compare two different kinds of penetration enhancer in transdermal patch with placebo patch using a drug (Salbutamol sulphate) and compare for in vitro drug release. Study Design: The transdermal patches of Salbutamol sulphate were prepared by solvent evaporation technique using different ratios of Hydroxy propyl methylcellulose (HPMC K15M) and Poly vinyl propylene (PVP K30). The prepared transdermal patches were evaluated on parameters like weight variation, thickness uniformity, moisture content, moisture uptake, folding endurance, tensile strength, drug content, in vitro dissolution studies, in vitro drug release, skin irritation test and stability studies. Maximum drug release was showed by Batch T, and the optimized formulation showed satisfactory...
