The present study was carried out to investigate the phytochemicals, Total polyphenolic content and In-vitro antioxidant activity of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Cordia obliqua fruits. Objective: To determine the primary and secondary metabolites present in different extracts, to aces the quantity of phenolic compounds by total phenolic content and to evaluate the % inhibition of free radicals by in vitro antioxidant activity of Cordia obliqua fruits Methods: The plant material was extracted with solvents with increasing order of polarity and phytochemicals were identified by different chemical tests. Preliminary phytochemical studies of fruit extracts of Cordia obliqua revealed the presence of phytoconstituents like glycosides, alkaloids, tannins, phenols, saponins, in the extracts. The different concentration of extracts and standard ascorbic was used to identify the scavenging effect by in-vitro antioxidant models. Results: Phytochemical analysis of extracts revealed the presence of glycosides, alkaloids, tannins, phenols, saponins. The phenolic content in different extracts was found to be 150.16, 174, and 231.39, respectively. The results of in-vitro antioxidant tests suggested that the ethanolic...

Distinctive groups of fungi are involved in the symbiotic association with epiphytic orchid. We have isolated endophytic fungi from Cleisostoma tenuifolium epiphytic orchid found in the Western Ghats and used morphological criteria as well as molecular techniques to identify these fungi. Characterization of these fungi was done by analyzing the quantified genomic sequences, and then identification was done by comparing the ITS region sequence of obtained fungi with its closely related fungal species from the NCBI database. Molecular techniques were useful in identifying endophytes to its species level. The vast range of endophytes from a single type of orchid further highlights the importance of forest epiphytes as reservoirs of fungal biodiversity; Schizophyllum commune, Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum, Xylaria adscendens, Fusarium...

Introduction: Global pneumonia mortality (50%) caused by pneumococcus is responsible for invasive pneumococcal disease. Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) has been introduced by the Government of India in a phased manner in selected states, but Haryana was not included. Objective: To draw key lessons learned from the process of newer vaccine introduction (PCV) in Haryana from the state’s resources to inform future introductions of PCV and any other new vaccine in other states of India and internationally. Methods The process of PCV introduction in Haryana was introduced with the launch of “Atal Jeevan Rakshak Teekakaran Yojna,” in 22 districts of the Haryana. The highest political and administrative leadership with a strong commitment to reducing the IMR and U5MR, approved the proposal and budget (~12 million USD). It was planned use of the of PCV13, and follow the National Immunization schedule i.e. 2 primary and 1 booster dose at 6, 14 weeks, and 9 months. The State-level launch ceremony of PCV introduction was organized in November 2018. Findings: Haryana became the...

Background: World Health Organization states that antibacterial/antimicrobial resistance (AMR) can threaten the effective prevention and treatment of an ever-increasing range of infections caused by bacteria, parasites, viruses, and fungi. Objective: This review aims to discuss the plants and their derivatives having anti-corona virus/ viral activity. Methods: For the preparation of this review article, all the relevant information was gathered from accessible and inaccessible resources (Web, Books, Thesis, etc.). Results: It has been accepted worldwide that the uses of herbal products provide stronger immunity which helps to fight against these microbial species. SARS- CoV2 virus is now a pandemic, affecting many countries around the globe. This long series of herbal species may interfere with the target-specific proteins named S Protein, S protein- ACE-2 interaction, Helicase protein, N Protein, 3CLpr, PL pro to prevent the viral replication in the host. Traditional herbal medicine not only inhibits the virus attachment to the host body but also prevents replication and boosts up the host immune system. Natural remedies reduce the viral load and,...

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Huntington’s disease occur as a result of the neurodegeneration process. No specific treatment was found to reduce or stop neurodegenerative diseases. In conventional medicine, many plants have been used to treat neurodegenerative diseases. Natural products play an important role in the prevention and treatment of various neurodegenerative diseases, as well as neuronal dysfunction. Different studies suggest that natural products, such as polyphenolic and plant-separated alkaloids, may delay neurodegeneration and improve memory and cognitive function. Ethnopharmacological studies have provided data to identify potential new drugs in plant sources. Recently many drugs found in medicines have been isolated from plants or their origin, including anticholinesterase (Anti-ChE) isolated plant alkaloids that have been investigated in terms of their potential in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities of plants and soluble components of plants are used to improve inflammation, anxiety, seizures, and more. Medicinal plants have beneficial properties due to the presence of complex chemical compounds to treat toxins...
