The study presents a simple and rapid chromatographic technique for the estimation of chlorhexidine gluconate for mouth wash using a combination of phosphate buffer and acetonitrile as mobile phase. The separation was carried out on a stainless steel column 250mm × 4.5mm packed with octadecyle silane particles. The detection was carried out using a dual lambda absorbance detector at 254nm wavelength. The method is found to be linear in the concentration range 10.56µg/ml to 98.56µg/ml and correlation coefficient 0.998. The analyte peak was found to be symmetric and the average retention time is 2.919mins. The method was found to selective, precise and accurate for the quantification of the drug from mouth rinse available in the...

This article mainly focuses on the approval process of drug import and export from India. Now a day’s foreign pharmaceutical companies have a better legal foundation for releasing new drugs in India. The Indian medical regulatory system has become more complicated, and new drugs can take a year or more to be approved for marketing. Ever-changing laws and regulations are driving demand for regulatory affairs professionals to provide the current needs of industries for the global competition and who can help pharmaceutical companies to effectively bring their medical products to the Indian market. In today’s competitive scenario, the reduction of the time taken to launch the product is imperative and hence vital for company’s success. This article will be helpful to all pharma manufacturer/importer, regulatory, preclinical, formulation scientists, and clinical trial professional who are involved directly or indirectly in new drug registration process. Need integrated knowledge and broad perspectives which you need to effectively manage the regulatory process for approval of new drugs in...

A preliminary experiment was carried out to analyse the growth performance of Agrocyba aegerita mushroom cultures using chemosynthetic media. This study is mainly aimed to different media such as Yeast Malt Agar Medium (YMA), Saboraud’s Dextrose Agar Medium (SDA), Glucose Peptone Agar Medium (GPA), Malt Extract Agar Medium (MEA) and Potato Dextrose Agar Medium (PDA) on the growth of mycelium of the mushroom. Studies revealed that the joint portion of cap and stripe produced vigorous mycelium growth in minimum time; the average maximum growth was obtained on Malt Extract Agar (MEA) than Potato Dextrose agar (PDA)...

The main objective of the present work is to develop Floating Effervescent matrix tablets of Ranitidine hydrochloride using different polymers viz. hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), Xanthan gum and Guar gum. Varying ratios of drug and polymer like 1:0.6 and 1:1 were selected for the study. After fixing the ratio of drug and polymer for control the release of drug up to desired time, the release rates were modulated by combination of two different rate controlling material. After evaluation of physical properties of tablet, in-vitro buoyancy studies, Swelling index and in vitro release study were performed in 0.1N Hcl up to 12 hrs. Dissolution data was analyzed by Korsmeyer-Peppas power law expression and modified power law expression. It was observed that matrix tablets contained polymer blend of HPMC K100M/Guar gum were successfully sustained the release of drug upto 12 hrs. Among all the formulations, formulation F9 which contains 50% HPMC K100M and 50% of Guar gum has released the drug which follow Zero order kinetics via, swelling, diffusion and...

The liver is a vital solid organ in the upper abdomen that helps in digestion, detoxification and has other synthetic, metabolic and storage functions. Liver diseases are a major problem worldwide; viral hepatitis, alcohol, malnutrition, autoimmune and drugs being most important causes. Currently there is no way to compensate for the absence of liver function in the long term and liver transplant is the only option for those with irreversible loss of hepatic function. The scientific basis for the statement that plants and their active constituents play an important role in the prevention of diseases is continuously advancing. In this review some of the plants with their phyto-constituents studied for protective effect in liver diseases are...
