Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is increasing gradually in India as well as worldwide. Excess use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAID) and lifestyle factors cause gastric mucosal damage. This study was designed to search out the gastro-protective efficacy of hydromethanolic extract of Ayapana triplinervis on different graded ulcers. Mild to severe grade of gastric ulcer has been developed by oral administration of IND at the doses of 10mg, 20mg and 40mg/kg body weight for 15 days. Gastric ulcer were assessed by elevation of ulcer score, ulcer index, pepsin activity and gastric volume in IND-treated groups in respect to control group. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels were elevated in IND-treated groups in respect to control due to withdrawal of prostaglandin and cyclooxygenase (COX-2) enzyme induced suppression. Significant protection in the levels of these ulcerogenic parameters were observed after the treatment of Ayapana triplinervis (200mg/kg) when compared with the standard drug omeprazole (20mg/kg). The important antioxidant enzymes activities were decreased but lipid peroxidation levels elevated in all the ulcerated groups(p<0.05)....

3D Bioprinting is a transformational technology that is an indispensable part of the pharmaceutical and biomedical fields. It has been used globally as a cutting-edge tool to improve future prospects. This review encompasses a brief explanation of what exactly 3d bioprinting is, its processing, and how it differs from 3d printing. The elemental segment of bioprinting is bioinks which are biomaterial and human cells pledged to print biomedical products, their manufacturers, and modernistic breakthroughs. The hot-off-the-press technologies comprise fused deposition modeling (FDM), direct ink writing (DIW), laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT), Inkjet bioprinting, and stereolithography from a pharmaceutical perspective. The other half of the paper deals with pharmaceutical and biomedical applications, introduces the need for 4D bioprinting, and sheds light on the future prospectus of this far-reaching technology. To conclude, 3D and 4D bioprinting uses bioinks and some modernistic methods for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. 3DP could emerge as a transformative technology with the potential to become an essential component of industrial manufacturing and household appliances. The majority of hospitals...

Aurones constitute a less studied sub-class of flavonoides which occur rarely in nature. Aurones are responsible for the golden yellow colour of some flowers. Substituted 2-benzylidene-1-benzofuran-3 (2H)-ones are commonly known as aurones that belong to the naturally occurring flavonoids. In the present investigation, a series of some novel substituted 2-benzylidene-1-benzofuran-3 (2H)-ones (2a-j) have been synthesized by cyclization of 1-(substituted-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-3-(4’-dimethylamino-phenyl)-prop-2-en-1-one (2-hydroxychalcone) (1a-j) with mercuric acetate in DMSO. The products were tested for purity by TLC and structures of newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by physical data, IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral analysis. All these newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against four different pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis and antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger, Penicillium chrysogenum, Fusarium moneliforme and Aspergillus flavus, using Peniciline and Greseofulvin as standard drugs by agar cup method and Poison plate method,...

Aegle marmelos L. (Bael Fruit) is rich in bioactive compounds such as coumarins, alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins, flavonoids, and essential oils. This article focused on the pharmacokinetic profiling of coumarins present using an in silico ADME tool called SwissADME which contributes to a better understanding of enhanced drug monitoring and individualization of drug therapy. Log S (ESOL), Log S (Ali), and Log S (SILICOS-IT) values of umbelliferon, scopoletin, scoparone, xanthotoxol, and marmesin show that they are soluble in water which shows they have good absorption and excretion properties. Lipophilicity data shows that all coumarins can penetrate through the blood-brain barrier (BBB) except marmin, while marmesin and marmin have good oral bioavailability. These coumarins can inhibit the CYP1A2, CYP2C19, and CYP2C9 except CYP2D6, and CYP3A4 isoenzymes. This data helps to select leads for further drug discovery and...

Background: Sinigrin (allyl-glucosinolate or 2-propenyl-glucosinolate), an aliphatic glucosinolate, is naturally present in Brassicaceae plants, while carvacrol (2-methyl-5-isopropylphenol) is a monoterpene phenolic component of the essential oil generated by many aromatic plants. This study is aimed to determine the hepatoprotective potential of these phytoconstituents on Paracetamol-induced liver damage in Wistar rats. Methods: Seven groups of six Wistar rats, each weighing between 180 and 230 g, were selected. The animals’ weight range was evenly divided throughout the groups. The control group, group I, got normal saline; the PCM group, group II, received paracetamol (3 g/kg, p.o.); groups III and IV, carvacrol (25, 50 mg/kg/p.o.); and the groups V and VI, sinigrin (25, 50 mg/kg/p.o.) once daily for 14 days. Silymarin was given daily to group VII- Standard at a dose of 25 mg/kg p.o. Result: Serum samples were used to determine levels of marker enzymes such as aspartate transaminases (AST), alanine transaminases, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT). The proinflammatory cytokines interleukin-1beta (IL-1b) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) as...
