Plants have been the major source of drugs in Ayurveda and other ancient system in world. The Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy systems have evidenced the use of plants for various disorders. Medicinal constituents from plants playa vital role in traditional as well as western medicine. Acalypha indica L. belongs to family Euphorbiaceae and is a common weed found in Asia, including India, Pakistan, Yemen, Srilanka and is well distributed in tropical areas of Africa and South America. Plant has emetic, expectorant, laxative and diuretic property, useful in bronchitis, pneumonia, pulmonary TB, Asthma, leaves are laxative, anti- parasiticide and possess antifungal activities. The plant possesses various pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-ulcer, analgesic, anti- arthritic, HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitory, antiurolithiatic, cytotoxic, anthelmintic, anticonvulsant, antianxiety, anti-malarial, lipid lowering, anti-venom and kidney protective activity. The present review gives a detailed survey of the literature on its phytochemistry, pharmacognosy, traditional uses and pharmacological...

A simple, precise, and rapid ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS method for determination of nitisinone in 20 µl human plasma was developed and validated. Nitisinone 6C13 was used as an internal standard (IS). Chromatographic analysis was performed on an Atlantis dC18 column (2.1 x 100 mm, 3 µm) using a mobile phase consisting of methanol and 10 mM ammonium-acetate (90:10, v;v) that was delivered at a flow rate of 0.25 ml/min. The eluents were monitored using electrospray ionization in the positive ion mode set at transition set of mass-to-charge (m/z): 330 → 217.92 and 336 → 217.91 for nitisinone and nitisinone-13C6 (internal standard, IS), respectively. The retention time of nitisinone and IS both were about 0.88 minutes, respectively. Relationship between nitisinone concentration and peak area ratio of nitisinone to the IS was linear (R2 ≥ 0.9991) in the range of 2–100 µg/ml and the intra- and inter-day coefficient of variations were 1.9% to 4.5% and 3.2% to 6.2%, respectively. Extraction recoveries for nitisinone and the...

Introduction: Distal femoral fractures are among challenging orthopaedic injury constituting 0.4% of all fractures. Despite recent evaluation in operating techniques and surgical implants, debate continues around the choice of implant for various type of distal femur fractures. Method and Material: In prospective randomized study from 2020 to 2022, analysis of 40 patients was done out of which 20 cases were treated in each group with follow-up at 2,6,12,24 weeks and 6 months. Results: Clinical and radiographic evaluation according to KOOS functional score demonstrated that in RL group, 3 case were excellent, 10 cases were good, 07 cases were fair, while in LP group: 01 case was excellent, 07 cases were Good and 11 cases were fair and 01 case was poor. Over 90% of fractures under RN and LP healed within 6 months with average time being 21.15 weeks (range 12 to 28 weeks) in RN and 23.30 weeks (range 12-32 weeks) in LP group. Out of 20 cases of RN group, 2 went for delayed union requiring dynamisation...

Oxalis corniculata is a perennial weed which is found in both tropical and temperate climates, it grows in damp and shaded areas throughout the Himalayas and warmer regions of India. This herb, an invasive weed has a number of valuable secondary metabolites. Numerous research has demonstrated the advantages of Oxalis corniculata leaf extract. Its metabolite profile, phytochemical analysis and therapeutic potential of its leaf extract are reviewed. To find diverse research relating to the utilization of this plant extract, a bibliographic search was done. Known bioactive compounds include oleic, linolenic, linoleic, stearic and palmitic acids, tannins, volatile oil, proteins, amino acids, phenolic compounds, phytosterols, flavonoids and carbohydrates. Several reports have revealed that it is considered as a weed, yet leaf extract has a wide range of benefits because of its pharmacological actions. Several pharmaceutical actions comprise of antimicrobial, antioxidant, wound healing, antifungal, antidiabetic, anticancer, antidiarrheal, antiulcer, anti-inflammatory, antiamoebic, hepatoprotective, nematocidal and cardio-protective. This review paper summarizes all the medicinal aspect and remedial uses of Oxalis corniculata, a traditional Indian...

Objective: To investigate the antitumor activity of different extracts (petroleum ether, ethanolic and aqueous extracts) of Taraxacum officinale against DMBA-induced skin cancer in mice. Methods: T. officinale leaves were successively extracted using petroleum ether (PTO), ethanol (ETO) and water (ATO). The antitumor activity was evaluated against DMBA-induced skin cancer in swiss albino mice. The morphological and biochemical parameters were observed inrelation to the skin papilloma. Results: PTO, ETO and ATO were administered at dose of 200 mg/kg body weight, respectively to DMBA-induced skin cancer in mice. All the treatment groups showed a significant (P < 0.05) improvement in all biochemical parameters by restoring to the normal level. The morphological study confirmed that the treatment groups showed a significant reduction in tumor size and the tumor number compared with group II. ETO extract was found to be highly effective against DMBA-induced skin cancer in mice as compared to PTO & ATO groups. Conclusion: The results were significant and confirmed that the T. officinale ETO extract has remarkable antitumor activity against...
