Aim of the present research work was to develop a sensitive, precise, and robust stability-indicating UPLC method for the simultaneous estimation of tipiracil and trifluridine in formulations. The chromatographic separation of a mixture of tipiracil and trifluridine was attained in isocratic method utilizing a mobile phase of 0.1% orthophosphoric acid: acetonitrile in the proportion of 50:50% v/v utilizing a Hibera C18 column which has dimensions of 100 × 2.1 mm, 1.8µ particle size and the flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. The detection system was monitored at 230nm wavelength maximum with 1.5 µl injection volume. The retaining time for trifluridine and tipiracil was achieved at 0.549 min, and 1.251 min. respectively. Tipiracil and trifluridine and their combined drug formulation were exposed to thermal, acidic, oxidative, photolytic, and alkaline conditions. The present method was validated as per the guidelines given by the ICH for specificity, accuracy, sensitivity, linearity, and precision. The developed method was highly sensitive, rapid, precise, and accurate than the earlier reported methods. The total run time was decreased...

Background and Aim: Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a pervasive emergency affecting 1-5% of children, among whom the majority are with preexisting comorbidities. This commentary aim is to highlight two such prominent childhood comorbidities, i.e., asthma and type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1-DM), with their pathophysiological link to COVID-19. Method: We searched the Google Scholar and PubMed databases till August 15, 2020, and retrieved the data connected to our aim for reviewing. Results: Asthma and T1-DM in children affect the COVID-19 progression due to their interlinked disease mechanisms with infection. Th-2 (T-helper) low endotype asthma and TI-DM connect by decreased ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) receptor expression, whereas Th-2 high endotype intensifies the COVID-19 via declining the IFNs (interferons) related anti-viral effect. Addressing these comorbidities therapeutically in this pandemic includes continuity in respective disease control treatment plans with the use of pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) with a spacer rather than nebulizers or keeping the low incidence of exacerbations by inhaled/oral corticosteroid and/or Montelukast in children with asthma is recommended. In the case of...

Background: Hyperpigmentation (HP) is a common dermatological disease. Indian population presents in a variety of dermatological pigmentation. Effects of Nutrients and metabolites factor are important for skin hyperpigmentation condition. Aims and Objectives: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the status of Haemoglobin, vitamin B12, Ferritin, and TSH levels in people with hyperpig-mentation from a different region of Aravalli district Gujarat, India. Materials and Method: A study based retrospective, prospective and Multi-centric study conducted at the dermatological outpatient clinics at Modasa, Vatrak, Ranasanarea of Aravalli district, Gujarat, India. In this, we studied a total of 70 hyperpigmented patients fulfilling with inclusion criteria. Hyperpigmentation patients correlate with serum vitamin B12; Ferritin, CBC, and TSH during a four-year period from June 2015 to May 2019 were included in the study. Those were diagnosed with following various examinations and tests. A detailed examination was performed with respect to skin hyperpigmentation. Clinical and laboratory data compare with normal control. Student t-test used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 70 HP patients were investigated...

Pectinases are the pectinolytic enzymes that constitute an important component of the plant cell wall and of wide use with their target as pectins. Pectinases cover three different enzymes: Pectin-esterases (PE) act upon ester bonds in pectin breaking them into simpler forms, Polygalacturonases (PG) target the bonds between the galacturonosyl residues, and Pectate lyases (PL) target the alpha 1,4 glycosidic bond. These enzymes can be biosynthesized with the help of various microbes, including bacteria and fungi, using biological waste as a source of nutrients, carbon, and energy. These are commercially important because of their extensive use in the food and textile industry, clarification of beverages, maceration of plant tissue, treatment of wastewater, pulp liquefaction, textile industry and plant fiber processing, coffee, tea and oil extraction, de-gumming plant fibers, and improvement of chromaticity and stability of red wines. This review mainly aims at the pectinase’s, their types, mechanism of action, and the substrates on which they act. It also gives a broad view of the applications of these enzymes in...

The global production of solid waste and lack of its management is a concern for many global populations. Also of major concern is the production of fossil fuel-based materials and substances such as medicines. Another unease observation is the destructive action of garden snails on plant materials, of which many are found in gardens and fields of farmers. The search, however, continues for procedures that could contribute to the production of bio-based products such as bio-medicines as well as actions to limit the production of solid waste, which is a major contributor to environmental pollution. Glucose a fermentable sugar, has been identified as an important feedstock for the synthesis of many bio-products. Cellulose a glucose-based biopolymer, and structural components of paper material can be degraded into glucose by cellulase a hydrolytic enzyme system. The cellulolytic action of garden snails has been used to saccharify various waste papers at different incubation temperatures, and the optimum sugar formation from these materials and % saccharification of each paper material was determined. Optimum...
