New Benzimidazole derivatives were designed and synthesized. To explain the activity of new derivatives, we have explored the binding affinity of the compounds against α-amylase (PDB ID: 4W93), the target enzyme for the antidiabetic activity. α-amylase is considered as primary target because it converts starch into maltose, which is followed by the production and transportation of the glucose into the blood. Docking study strongly enhanced the activity of these compounds as new discovered hits. The drug likeness score established the compounds to be pharmacokinetically active. All the reactions were monitored by TLC one spot technique, melting point analysis and the structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by UV, IR, proton NMR spectra. The inhibitory activity of all the derivatives against alpha amylase enzyme showed moderate activity in comparison to standard drug acarbose. Among all the derivatives, BM-1emerged with potent inhibitory activity. Compounds BM-2, BM-3 and BM-4 exhibited moderateinhibitoryactivity.BM-5was found to be the least potent...

Andrographolides are bioactive compounds derived from the plant Andrographis paniculata that have gained attention for their potential as an immune modulator. Research indicates that andrographolides exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory properties. It can enhance the activity of immune cells, such as macrophages and T lymphocytes, and modulate cytokine production, which helps balance immune responses. Clinical studies suggest that andrographolides may be beneficial in treating respiratory infections, reducing inflammation, and potentially providing protective effects against autoimmune conditions. Andrographolides have been shown to inhibit key inflammatory pathways, including the NF-κB, MAPK, and STAT3 signalling pathways, which play crucial roles in the immune response. Andrographolides have been studied in combination with conventional chemotherapy drugs, showing a synergistic effect that enhances the efficacy of chemotherapy while reducing side effects. While results are promising, more extensive clinical trials are necessary to establish its effectiveness and safety for long-term use. Andrographolides show potential as a natural immune-supportive agent, warranting further exploration in integrative health...

Background: The study has been carried out to assess the perception health status, self-medication practice and quality of life of adolescents in West Tripura and to find out the factors affecting them. Methods: A cross-sectional study has been carried out in West Tripura district. The students of all the schools of randomly selected sub-division were the study population. For data collection, SF-36 item short item Health Survey instrument was used. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, multiple linear regression, one sample t test, independent sample t test and ANOVA test. For self medication including illicit drug use separate tool was used. Results: 49.1% of adolescents were found to have adequate health status in this study. Quality of life was found to be high in 44.4% of adolescents. Age, gender and study class of adolescents was found to be significantly associated with their health status. Mean score was found to be significantly different between different father: s occupation and different study classes. Conclusion: The study concludes that that...

The use of antibiotics to treat infections requires treatment of microbial communities in the gut which causes antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD) as a side effect. The number of people using probiotics to manage these effects remains low because there is insufficient awareness of their proper usage. An investigation examines pharmacy student understanding and perceptions about the co-administration of probiotics with antibiotics by studying effectiveness together with timing variables and treatment costs and values. The survey at KMCH College of Pharmacy used structured questionnaire research methodology to evaluate students’ comprehension of probiotic advantages and timing and financial details as well as probiotic-antibiotic interaction awareness throughout the two-month study period. Survey results demonstrated that more than three quarters of participants understood the effects of probiotics against antibiotic side effects, yet respondents exhibited gaps in their understanding about correct strain pick and appropriate timing and storage procedures. Students had varying understandings about how financial matters affected purchasing decisions for probiotics. Research has proven the benefits of probiotics for treatment success, yet a lack...

Pharmaceutical technology has been using artificial intelligence more and more in recent years. This technology can help save time, money and also very helpful while improving understanding of the links between various formulation and process parameters. To tackle both specific and complex issues, artificial intelligence (AI) leverages human knowledge and gains knowledge from the solutions it generates. Drug development could undergo a revolution thanks to remarkable increases in processing capacity and advances in artificial intelligence. Reduced efficiency and rising R&D expenditures are currently making it difficult for the pharmaceutical industry to continue its medication development programs. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been used more and more in many facets of society, but especially in the pharmaceutical business. The use of AI in several areas of the pharmaceutical business, such as clinical trials, medication repurposing, drug discovery and development, and increasing pharmaceutical production, is highlighted in this article. Moreover, AI boost clinical trials process by identifying suitable candidates and predicting treatment outcomes and maximised efficiency and accuracy. In personalized medicine, AI...
