Insulin is commonly administered to diabetic patients sub-cutaneously and has shown poor patient compliance. The problem lies with the delivery of proteins and peptides to the body, for which oral, transdermal, vaginal, rectal, and pulmonary routes have been explored for proteins like insulin. Still, so far subcutaneous route has delivered the best results. This results in fear of the patients due to the prick caused by the subcutaneous delivery. To overcome these nuances, work has been carried out on delivering insulin orally. Different molecules have been extensively studied to deliver insulin orally. This review article covers the various materials exploited for the delivery of peptides like insulin, viz. polymers, nanoparticles, liposomes, and many more that have been evaluated as a vehicle for the oral delivery of insulin. Polymers that are naturally obtained like chitosan and its subsidiaries, alginates, γ-PGA based materials, starch-based nanoparticles, and manufactured polymers like PGLA, P(MAA-g-EG), PLA, PEA Poly(alkyl cyanoacrylate) Nanoparticles, Solid Lipid Nanoparticles, Targeted Nanoparticles and Gold Nanoparticles have been discussed for a better understanding...

Lassa fever is a serious viral haemorrhagic illness caused by Lassa virus, a family of Arenaviridae. This haemorrhagic fever has become rampant in West Africa especially in Sierra Leone, the Republic of Guinea, Liberia and Nigeria, through exposure to food or household items contaminated with urine or faeces of infected Mastomys rats. There has been no vaccines or particular antiviral agents/drugs against the treatment of Lassa fever, but some drugs such ribavirin, lacidipine, phenothrin and remdesvir are being used in the early stage of the illness. The goal of the present work was to use in-silico methods via molecular docking and ADMET properties to assess the effectiveness of these drugs alongside the botanical drugs (Bergamottin and Casticin) found in grapefruits and Artemisia annua. The results showed that Remdesvir possesses outstanding inhibitory action against nucleoprotein (NP) of the Lassa virus, although Phenothrin and Casticin were active against 3MWP, Lacidipine and Casticin were active against 3MWT, 3MX5 and 3T5Q and Bergamottin, and Casticin were against 3T5N and 4FVU; Thus Remdesvir and...

COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that can trigger respiratory tract infection. Due to its tendency to affect the upper respiratory tract (sinuses, nose and throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe and lungs), this disease is life-threatening and affects a large number of populations. This virus’s unique and complex nature enhances the scope to look into the direction of herbal plants and their constituents for its prevention and treatment. The herbal remedies can have preventive as well as therapeutic actions. This review focuses on various aspects of using herbal medicines for COVID-19, as herbal constituents may also have adverse effects. Various studies revealed that some medicinal plants show life-threatening adverse effects, so selecting plants, and their related studies should be appropriate and strategic. This article includes various factors that should be considered before herbal drug use in COVID-19 patients. These are clinical trials, safety, molecular mechanism, and self-medication, which have been elaborated. This article also discusses the targets of covid-19 and different coronavirus strains. As before, treatment diagnosis...

3D printing is an emerging technological advancement that could be applied in several medical fields, the educational arena, and preoperative planning. 3D printing technology, also known as additive manufacturing, is significant as it is cost-effective compared to traditional cadaveric models. The purpose of writing the current review on 3D printing techniques was to compile the recent literature with a special focus on the methods, principles, and fabrication mechanisms to generate 3D printed models. The novel technology is reliable and appropriate for analyzing congenital heart diseases, but 3D printing has limitations and potential bias about subjectivity in the modernization of treatment for congestive heart diseases. 3D models can serve as a summary of diagnosis and a reliable tool for the choice of disease treatment. Albeit, high-resolution 3D printing methods are still in the initial stage of development with limitations, they demonstrate a huge potential to manufacture multi-functional materials. The present review briefly explains the applications, limitations, and regulatory challenges to be overcome in the fabrication of 3D printed...

December 2019 has become one of the most surprising days in the whole world in light of the flare-up of a most infectious sickness brought about by novel Covid or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This study is conducted to assess the benefits of the use of home remedies to prevent the cause of Covid-19 and evaluate the assessment of dietary changes and physical activity in the prevention of Covid-19. A questionnaire-based online survey is conducted using Google forms consisting of multiple-choice questions about home remedies, lifestyle and dietary changes made by the people during this pandemic. These home remedies included using different types of herbal preparations, steam inhalation, physical exercise and OTC medications for prophylaxis. Questions likewise included about being infected by Coronavirus-19(during first wave or second) and their recovery period, additionally collected their viewpoint for changes made, for example how much they are useful in the prevention of the attack and whenever encountered any undesirable impacts. Total responses were 210, among which 121(57.6%) responses...
