This study aimed to develop and assess a fast-dissolving oral film (FDOF) for colchicine, targeting enhanced patient compliance and rapid therapeutic onset, particularly for acute gout management. Colchicine, a powerful anti-inflammatory medication, often faces patient adherence challenges due to gastrointestinal side effects and delayed onset in conventional oral forms. FDOFs offer a compelling alternative by dissolving rapidly in the oral cavity without water, improving drug bioavailability and reducing gastrointestinal irritation. The films were formulated using suitable polymers, plasticizers, and super disintegrants through a solvent casting method. Key evaluation parameters included film thickness, folding endurance, disintegration time, drug content uniformity, and in-vitro drug release. Results indicated that the optimized films demonstrated rapid disintegration, excellent mechanical strength, and efficient drug release, making this delivery system a promising alternative for colchicine...

Worldwide, hypertension represents one of the most common complications of pregnancy. Hypertensive disorders continue to occur globally, complicating 5-20% of pregnancies. Its incidence varies from 2 to 8% of pregnancies in developed countries reaching 10% or more in developing countries. Hypertension in pregnancy is defined as systolic blood pressure (sBP) ≥ 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure (dBP) ≥ 90 mmHg, or by ↑ in sBP ≥ 30 mmHg, or in dBP ≥15 mmHg from preconception or first trimester blood pressure confirmed by two measurings 6 hours apart. It is associated with high rates of perinatal morbidity and mortality and is the third most common cause of maternal death worldwide. The present study was designed to analyze the physicians prescribing pattern of various antihypertensives, a drug utilization study of both qualitative and quantitative variants, also describing physician’s compliance with existing guidelines. The greatest challenge in treating hypertension in pregnancy is to reduce the blood pressure to assure the safety of mother and at the same time not to compromise...

To estimate Tolnaftate in the presence of its forced declination products, a straightforward and quick stability indicating High Performance Thin Liquid Chromatography -Photo Diode Array (HPTLC-PDA) approach was created and validated. The methodology used Toulene: Chloroform: Methanol (311 v/v) as mobile phase and SunQSil C18 column (250mm×4.6mm, 5µm) as stationary phase. Retention time of tolnaftate was found to be 0.27 minutes. To assess the declination conduct of tolnaftate, examinations into acid, alkali, oxidative, UV declination and thermal declination were conducted. In agreement with the criteria of International Conferences on Adjustment (ICH), the created and optimized approach was validated. The results showed that the limits of quantitation and discovery were 0.421 and 0.088µg/mL, singly. With R2=0.9991, linearity was seen in the attention range of 0.276-6µg/mL. Results showed the recovery ranged from 98.2 to 101.01. Reversed 7 Phase -High Performance Thin Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPTLC), a developed and tested technology was used to quantify tolnaftate in an in-house topical result. The main products of Oxidative and Base declination were discovered and described...

Diabetes mellitus – Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) in particular – is a long-term inherent metabolic disorder that is seriously problematic with regards to global health. Sulfonylureas are a class of widely-used oral hypoglycemic drugs aimed at type 2 diabetes mellitus, targeting ATP-sensitive potassium channels through sulfonylurea receptor 1 (SUR1). This study intends to design and evaluate novel sulfonylurea derivatives via in-silico models in order to enhance both therapy potential and drug-likeness. Molecular docking studies were conducted with AutoDock 4.2.6 against the protein 4EM9 (PPARγ). This is a critical target for T2DM, along with the most established relative glibenclamide for comparison. Docking scores indicated that all derivatives (1a-1d) had strong binding affinities but ligand 1a showed the most affinity with a value of -7.48 kcal/mol. ADME profiling via Swiss ADME gave good pharmacokinetics and bioavailability data, while the suitability of drug likeness got confirmed by Molinspiration and PASS prediction. All this helps in proving the sulfonylurea derivatives-another promising one being 1a-as important drug candidates to treat...

Nuclear medicine is a branch of medicine that evaluates body functioning and diagnosis and treats the disease by using radiopharmaceuticals or radio tracers. 131-iodine was the first commercially used nuclear medicine for the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disease. Nuclear medicine emits alpha, beta (ß- and ß+) and gamma rays, which are used for the diagnosis and treatment. Nuclear imaging studies can provide early and accurate diagnosis of cancer, many infections like diabetic foot osteomyelitis, vertebral osteomyelitis, endovascular graft infection, prosthetic joint infection and also for fever of unknown origin. PET and SPECT are techniques used for the diagnosis. Now a days hybrid technology PET/CT and SPECT/CT are used for the diagnosis. Different PET agents like Fluorine 18, Gallium 68, Carbon 11, Oxygen-15, Zirconium-89, Copper-64, Iodine-124 etc., are use for the diagnosis. SPECT agents like Technetium-99m, Thallium-201, Iodine-123 etc., are used for the diagnosis of the disease. Nuclear medicine used for the imaging of brain, myocardial perfusion, thyroid, parkinson’s disease, alzheimer’s disease, fever of unknown region, endovascular graft infection,...
