The research study aims to prepare and characterize bilayer tablets that combine Glibenclamide, a sulphonyl urea and Pioglitazone HCl, a thiazolidinedione for enhancing glycaemic control in Type 2 Diabetes. The bilayer design incorporates an immediate-release layer of Glibenclamide for rapid onset of action and a sustained-release layer of Pioglitazone HCl to maintain prolonged therapeutic levels. Using wet granulation process, a 400 mg bilayer tablet was prepared. Eight formulations of the immediate and sustained release layers were prepared using different quantities of Crospovidone and sodium starch glycolate, as well as different viscosity grades of HPMC K4 M and HPMC K100M polymers. The FTIR spectra confirmed that the medication and polymers do not interact chemically. DSC analysis was conducted for an optimized formulation, and no incompatibility was discovered. According to dissolution rate studies of bilayer tablets it was observed that the bilayer tablet showed 94.6% while the marketed tablet showed 82.5% release over a 12-hour period. The optimized formulation of drug release data demonstrated the best fit into zero-order kinetics and...

Pharmaceutical sciences face challenges related to antibiotics toxicity and microorganism resistance. Olax dissitiflora (mussiro) is traditionally used in Mozambique for skin diseases treatment and beauty. The research aims to bring scientific studies for its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. The hydroethanolic extracts of leaves, stem and stem bark of Olax dissitiflora species were evaluated for their phytochemical composition, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Thus, total phenols, total flavonoids, hydrolysable and condensed tannins, total alkaloids and antioxidant activity were determined by spectrophotometric method and the correlation between the concentration and activity was made. The antibiotic properties were evaluated by disk diffusion method. The results showed higher phenolic content (159.9 ± 0.9 mg GAE / DE), and higher antioxidant activity for the stem extract in all tested methods: DPPH assay (EC50 = 150.80 ± 0.47 µg/mL), ABTS test (EC50 =25.01 ± 0.05 µg/mL), ferricyanide test (EC50 =23.98 ± 0.14 µg/mL) and phosphomolybdenum test (EC50 = 180.19 ± 0.07 µg/mL) with a very good correlation with the extract concentration. Regarding the antibacterial activity of...

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an irrevocable most run-of-the-mill neurodeteriorating disease which comprises of lapses in the memory due to the disfigurement of synapse & neurons that leads to numerous types of dementia. As per the outline via (WHO) ICD-10 Mental & Behavioural Classification of Dementia, AD is persuaded by distinctive peculiarities of encephalon by either accretion of Amyloid-β, Neurofibrillary tangles, Insulin Resistance or Free radical generation. On top of that, genetic alteration in TREM-2 modified macrophages in encephalon depicts vast clinical manifestations according to different scalings with scorings. These scores are given by dint of the symptoms evinced with the help of newly retrieve diagnosis markers to prevent the wild mood disorder complications alongside rare organ failures. The numerous methodologies are great headways that makes a grateful resulting impact in the field of AD. Ahead of the times information & a wholistic perspective towards holistic malady can make a great avenue to recuperate in bucket of psychogenic...

In an increasingly fast-paced world, the rising prevalence of anxiety and mental health disorders highlights the critical need to preserve cognitive well-being. While mental illnesses often result from complex biological, psychological, and environmental interactions, their precise origins remain elusive. Conventional medicine offers various treatments, but alternative approaches, like nervine tonics, are garnering attention for their natural, therapeutic potential in supporting the nervous system and promoting relaxation. This study introduces Neuragreen, a novel polyherbal nervine tonic designed to enhance blood circulation, regenerate nerve cells, and exhibit potent nootropic, anti-Alzheimer, anti-depressant, and antioxidant effects. The formulation blends powerful herbal ingredients, including Ginkgo biloba, Centella asiatica, Bacopa monnieri, Withania somnifera, Mucuna pruriens, Pueraria tuberosa, Convolvulus pluricaulis, Celastrus paniculatus, Beta carotene, and B-complex vitamins. A multidisciplinary approach was employed, utilizing LCMS, UV-Visible, and FTIR spectroscopy, along with antioxidant assays and molecular docking. LCMS identified diverse bioactive compounds, while UV-Visible spectroscopy revealed the presence of flavonoids, terpenes, and alkaloids. FTIR confirmed the presence of polyphenolic compounds with antioxidant potential, and terpenoids were also detected....

Background: Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) ranks as the third leading cause of mortality globally and contributes significantly to chronic adult disabilities. Hemiparesis, the most prevalent post-stroke mobility impairment, affects approximately 75% of stroke survivors, substantially reducing their quality of life. This study aims to investigate CVA-associated Hemiparesis and Hemiplegia, focusing on management strategies to improve functional outcomes. Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted over six months include CVA patients aged > 30 years with CVA associated Hemiparesis or Hemiplegia, comprising both hospitalized and follow-up outpatient cases. Data were collected from patient case records and structured questionnaires, covering demographic details, type of stroke, drug therapy, type of physiotherapy received, adherence to post-discharge physiotherapy, and its impact on recovery. After completion of the study, the data were systematically analyzed and results were interpreted. Results: Hypertension was identified as the most common risk factor (39%), and statins were the most frequently prescribed pharmacological treatment (31%). Constraint-induced movement Therapy (CIMT) was implemented in 54% of cases, and regular post-discharge physiotherapy was undertaken by...
