Medicinal plants are significantly used in the cure of various ailments from ancient times. Literature suggests that traditional medicinal plants from Fabaceae, Lamiaceae, Myrtaceae, and Anacardiaceae, Combretaceae family are widely studied, and they potentially inhibit quorum sensing, a bacterial communication mechanism that leads to the pathogenesis. Plants such as Anogeissus leiocarpus, Brassia oleraceae, Camellia nitidissima, Cassia alata, Laserpitium ochridanum, Neppenthes alata, Parkia javanica, Pistacia atlantica, Plantago asiatica, Psidium guajava, Quercus infectoria, Terminallia bellerica, Terminallia catappa, are reported to be effective in quorum sensing inhibition. Plant extracts containing phytochemicals such as quercetin, kaempferol, myricetin, baicalin, cassipourol, 6-gingerol and eugenol were reported to be potential inhibitors of Pseudomonas aeruginosa quorum sensing. Bioactive principles from medicinal plants with anti-quorum sensing properties are remarkable substitutes for synthetic antibacterial drugs, especially in the era of multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogens. The anti-quorum sensing activity of medicinal plants against the Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a gram-negative MDR bacterium, is reviewed for the period from 1997 to...

Angina Pectoris is the medical term for chest pain or discomfort due to coronary heart disease. The drawback of the marketed formulation is required repeated administration of the drug due to low bioavailability. Therefore, it utilized a nanotechnology technique for prevention of drawback of marketed formulation. Polymeric nanoparticles have been in preferential list when it comes to nano-drug delivery via oral route. Recent advances in lipid-reducing treatment, statins clinical research suggests that antimicrobial therapy is important to continue reducing cardiovascular events, beyond lipid-reducing therapy. A potential therapeutic choice for the residual risk is to intervene directly in the inflammatory process through a drug delivery system based on the nanotechnologies. Different nano-sized materials, including micelles, liposomes, polymer nano-particles, dendrimers, carbon nanotubes, and metal nanoparticles, are currently developed as by nanotechnology. It is a viable strategy since the inflammatory environment enhances the integration of nano-sized materials into a mononuclear phagocytic process. We have recently developed a polymeric nano pharmaceutical statin in order to optimize its anti-inflammatory properties. In the present review,...

The overproduction of oxidants in the body leading to different side effects and chronic diseases, including oxidative stress. The oxidative stress is the overproduction of the oxidant’s condition in the body, which leads to metabolic imbalance and leading to diseases. It is one of the main diseases around the world, affecting the human lifestyle, either psychologically and physically. The natural products have been using as medicines and food supplements because of their nutritional values and less side effects. The current study was aimed to evaluate the free radical scavenging activity of Elytraria acaulis root extracts on different free radicals. The anti-oxidant activity was studied against 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), superoxide, and hydroxyl free radicals using standard methods. The Elyraria acaulis root part extracts showed concentration-dependent antioxidant activity on free radicals. The extracts showed a moderate effect on free radicals compared to the standard drug ascorbic acid, and hydro-alcoholic extract possesses more activity than the other two extracts. The end results of the current study clearly state that Elytraria acaulis root...

The leading factor restraining the intensification of herd reproduction is endometritis. The article states that the microflora of cow uterine exudate in chronic purulent-catarrhal endometritis is represented by Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Citrobacter freundii, Streptococcus faecalis, Streptococcus faecium, as well as anaerobes and group С Streptococci. The drug “Mitreс” showed the greatest effectiveness of suppressing the growth of the majority of isolated strains of microorganisms. Its zone of growth inhibition was as follows: Streptococcus faecium – 31 ± 2.06 mm, Citrobacter freundii – 30 ± 0.00 mm, anaerobes – 29 ± 0.00 mm, Proteus vulgaris – 28.5 ± 1.72 mm, Escherichia coli – 27.0 ± 1.45 mm; group C Streptococci– 27.32 ± 2.12 mm; Staphylococcus aureus strains- 25.5 ± 1.66 mm; Streptococcus faecalis– 25.0 ± 1.12 mm. The recovery of cows with chronic purulent-catarrhal endometritis after applying “Tilozinocarum” was 80%, “Endometramag-T” showed 90%, and mitrec demonstrated 100% recovery. During the 90 days of observation of the experimental group of cows injected with the drug “Sepranol” fertilization occurred...

Objective: State of the art, robust and environmentally benign stability indicating assay method (SIAM) has been developed for model drug Edoxabantosylate (EDO) Methods: Successful RP-HPLC chromatographic method was accomplished on a CHROMBUDGET® 100-5-C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μ) column using methanol and acetate buffer in the ratio of 53:47 having 2.9 pH and 10mM buffer strength. The degradation study was performed in the presence of various stressors, and SIAM develop was selective enough to discriminate the EDO peak with the peak of other degradation production (DP) with acceptable resolution. The degradation kinetics study and fragmentation pattern of isolated major DPs were carried out. Results: The developed SIAM validated as per ICH Q2(R1) guidelines. Two major DPs i.e. DP-I and DP-II, were isolated and characterized thoroughly. Furthermore, the reaction kinetics data revealed that EDO degradation was following first-order degradation kinetics. Conclusion: An extensive stress degradation study along with degradation kinetics, were performed. All probable degradation pathways were predicted by using LC-MS/MS and NMR data obtained by characterization...
