Tumor hypoxia is an important pathological condition that influences several signaling cascades in malignant cells, eventually leading to therapy resistance. Several natural bioflavonoids hold promise as anti-cancer agents. However, the effect of Quercetin on hypoxic pancreatic cancer cells is unknown. We analyze the effect of Quercetin on expression levels of metastatic markers HIF1α and E-cadherin under hypoxic conditions. Quercetin treatment was significantly correlated with reduced HIF1α expression levels and elevated E-cadherin levels. Our results suggest that Quercetin may alter E-cadherin levels by regulating HIF1α expression. Quercetin may inhibit pancreatic cancer cell metastasis by regulating metastasis genes in a hypoxic microenvironment and has pharmacological potential in aggressive pancreatic cancer...

Structure-Activity relationship (SAR) only identifies the chemical group responsible for producing the target biological effect in the organism. It was first present in 1865, structural activity relationship was refined dates back to the nineteenth century and now it has advanced from QSAR to 3D QSAR. Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSAR) are attempted to correlate the structural and biological properties of compounds or molecules. QSAR is used in drug design and medicinal chemistry. By using QSAR, scientists predefined toxicity related to organic molecules and determined the perfect potential biological activity that helps produce drug moiety. Group Based-Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (G-QSAR) is fragment dependent method which bases on molecule descriptors. Statistical parameters validate the GQSAR method. The cross-term fragment descriptor is used in GQSAR to study the relation of molecular fragments and variation in biological-based response. It provides a clue for designing new molecules and predicting their activity. In this article, we mainly concentrate on the various QSAR model such as Hansch Analysis, Free Wilson Analysis, various physicochemical properties, QSAR development process,...

Since ancient times, herbal medicines have been utilized globally to prevent and cure a wide range of medical disorders. Despite the fact that they are employed in many different medical systems, it remains a challenge to ensure their quality control, proper scientific validation and standardization. Systematic validation and scientific regulation of natural formulations are required for the future improvement of traditional systems of medicine. The herbal products produced with proper standardization and validation are often more efficient and have fewer adverse effects. In the present study, the stem bark of Ficus religiosa, stems of Tinospora cordifolia, leaves of Moringa olifera and roots of Boerhaevia diffusa have been selected. Due to pharmacological effects present in these plants, they are widely used in different traditional medicines. All the chosen plants are standardized by powder microscopy, physicochemical parameters, phytochemical screening, heavy metal testing etc. Comparative analysis of these parameters helped detect adulteration in each of these selected plants. Further, the comparative study of in-vitro antioxidant profiles of all these selected plants helped...

India is the peninsula of the herbal hub, in which the ayurvedic system of medicine has flourished as enlightenment in the field of medicine. Plants had played a vital role since ancient times when people used plant derivatives as a source of the drug. Currently, some spices and medicinal plants have become the preponderant source of drug discovery in research for treating diverse forms of the disease, including cancer, due to having anticancer, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. Several spices and medicinal plants are potential sources for the forestallment and treatment of varied diseases, which contains several important bioactive compounds and phytochemical properties. Antioxidant activity can be arrested by flavonoids, tannins, phenolic acids, carotenoids, etc., depending on their physical structure. But in plants, Polyphenols are the most abundant antioxidant having a splendid ability to capture oxidative free radicals. The present study favours detailed wisdom on the antioxidant activities of nearly 80 different Indian medicinal plants in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu which would be more beneficial for further research to develop...

Presently, the surge in the consumption of herbal formulations is encouraged by several factors; the main factor is that they are relatively safe and effective. Plant extracts are considered an alternative source of synthetic drugs and are expected to produce promising results for treating several diseases. The present study aimed to formulate and evaluate antibacterial thermosensitive mucoadhesive gel containing Quercus infectoria gall extract and synthesize and characterize the silver nanoparticles by using Quercus infectoria gall extract. For extraction, water and ethanol were used as a solvent. The major constituents of the extract are tannic acid, gallic acid, ellagic acid, and these three constituted showed synergistic antibacterial activity. Formulated gel delivered the drug for more than 4 hr. The batch F5 optimized with good viscosity, spreadability and extrudability, mucoadhesive strength, release of drug is more, and the gel is stable; hence it is used for further evaluation like in-vitro skin irritation study and in-vitro antibacterial test. The formulated gel was not irritant and showed antibacterial activity greater than the marketed...
