Electrolytes are crucial for establishing and maintaining the electrical potential across cell membranes. Electrolyte abnormalities can precipitate life-threatening events. The incidence of electrolyte disorders is nearly 25% in ICU patients. Ion selective electrodes (ISEs) are so far commonly used method for electrolytes estimation in clinical laboratories. Studies using different devices have reported different results. Consequently, determining how well different methods align in their electrolyte readings is important. Comparisons of electrolyte results from arterial (ABG analyzer) and serum (electrolyte analyzer) samples, both utilizing the direct, non-diluting ISE method, have been the subject in this study. The objective to investigate whether the results of electrolytes measures on electrolyte analyser and ABG analyser are equal when used to assess electrolyte levels (sodium, potassium & chloride). The gap is usually small (1-4 mmol/L) but in critically ill patients or in sever hyperlipidemia / hyperprotenemia; the difference can be clinically significant. our study we concluded that if there is a large difference between the two methods in the same patient, one should check for...

Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains one of the most aggressive and treatment-resistant cancers, often driven by aberrant KRAS signalling. Kruppel-like factor 5 (KLF5), a downstream transcription factor in this pathway, has emerged as a potential therapeutic target. Chamazulene, a bioactive sesquiterpene derived from Matricaria chamomilla, known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but its anticancer potential remains unexplored. Objective: To evaluate the drug-likeness, toxicity, and KLF5-targeting potential of Chamazulene using an integrated in-silico approach. Methods: Chamazulene’s physicochemical and pharmacokinetic properties were assessed via SwissADME and PreADMET tools. Toxicity predictions were obtained using the GUSAR server. Molecular docking against homology-modelled KLF5 was performed using AutoDock Vina, and binding interactions were visualized. The top-scoring complex was further analyzed through 100-nanosecond molecular dynamics simulation using Desmond to assess structural stability under physiological conditions. Results: Chamazulene demonstrated favorable drug-likeness, high gastrointestinal absorption, BBB permeability, and a bioavailability score of 0.55. It showed no predicted hepatotoxicity or mutagenicity and had a high lethal dose (LD₅₀) value (>5000 mg/kg), although carcinogenic potential was flagged....

Mobile health (mHealth) applications are increasingly used to support adherence by offering reminders, tracking tools and educational features. This narrative review aims to provide a user-centered comparative assessment of commonly available mHealth apps for medication adherence. This study was conducted over a period of 6 months to use and review six mobile apps. Each app was assessed based on eight key parameters such as user interface and navigation, reminder system, medication tracking, adherence support features, data security, customization options, integration and backup capabilities and technical stability. The analysis was based on direct app usage and user experience. My Therapy and Medisafe performed strongly across most parameters offering intuitive interfaces, flexible reminders, robust medication tracking and high data security. Medication Reminder and Alarm & Pill Reminder provided basic functionality with limited advanced features. Pillo, though visually engaging, lacked clinical depth and adherence tracking. Customization and integration features varied widely among the apps. mHealth applications offer valuable support in improving medication adherence. However, their effectiveness is influenced by the depth of...

The potential phytochemicals and pharmacological actions of the plant Nyctanthes arbor-tristis are the main topic of this review. Nyctanthes arbor-tristiss isan extremely significant traditional plant in India, sometimes called parijata or harsinghar. Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani medicine have all been used to treat various infectious and non-infectious illnesses. Various medicinal properties, including anti-arthritic, antispasmodic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulant, anti-diabetic, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anthelminthic, antileishmanial, antipyretic, antiallergic, antiviral, and CNS depressant, are known to occur in all parts of the plants. These plant pharmacological activities are attributed to flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, alkaloids, steroids, and phenolic compounds, which have been identified in the plant through phytochemical studies. The article reviews aim to highlight the need for research and their prospective development while gathering and documenting information on various pharmacological aspects of Nyctanthes...

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by hyperproliferation of keratinocytes, resulting in scaly, erythematous plaques. Conventional treatments often involve corticosteroids, retinoids, and immuno-suppressants, which can have significant side effects and limited long-term efficacy. There is a growing interest in exploring complementary and alternative therapies, particularly those derived from natural sources, due to their potential for better tolerability and multifaceted mechanisms of action. This review article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the potential of a polyherbal cream formulated with Citrus sinensis (sweet orange) peel extract and Linum usitatissimum (flaxseed) oil for the management of psoriatic skin. We will delve into the individual pharmacological properties of these natural ingredients, their traditional uses in skin disorders, and the scientific evidence supporting their efficacy in addressing the key pathological features of psoriasis. Furthermore, the formulation aspects of topical creams, the potential synergistic effects of combining these two ingredients, and the future perspectives for developing a safe and effective polyherbal treatment for psoriasis will be...
