D5 Chooranam is a classical Siddha formulation developed by Central Council for Research in Siddha, prescribed for the management of diabetes mellitus. The present work was carried out to assess phytochemical profile and also to explore the antioxidant potential of Siddha drug D5 Chooranam. The Phytochemical profile and antioxidant activity were evaluated in five different solvent extracts (Ethyl acetate, chloroform, ethanol, petroleum ether, and water) of D5 Chooranam. The phytochemical analysis of D5 Chooranam disclosed the existence of various phytochemicals in D5 Chooranam. The amount of phytochemicals present in D5 Chooranam also correlates with the various pharmacological activities as per its therapeutic indications. The considerable radical scavenging capacity of D5 Chooranam, particularly in its water extract, ethyl acetate extract, and fresh aqueous solution, is well justified by the results of all in-vitro antioxidant studies. These results reveal the beneficial effect of D5 Chooranam against oxidative stress associated disorders like diabetes mellitus and its complications. Hence it can be concluded that it may be due to the presence of vital...

Despite different therapy, such as chemotherapy, for cancer, it has become the leading cause of death globally. This boosts the researcher for searching for a new lead molecule with a simple structure and maximum potency with little adverse effect. In recent years, 1,3,4-thiadiazole moiety attracted the attention of scientists for the development of novel compounds. The different articles reported that 1,3,4-thiazole derivatives have to exhibit various biological activities like antiviral, antitumor, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, and CNS depressant activities, etc. This review is tempted to highlight the detailed synthetic strategy and biological activities of 1,3,4-thiazole moiety and draw attention towards future development and drug...

Introduction: Bacterial infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality globally. This scenario is further complicated by the development of antibiotic resistance, which has an adverse impact on the world economy by increasing the treatment cost and prolonging the hospital stay. It also requires use of reserve antibiotics which have higher toxicity. Hence, new antibacterial drugs are urgently needed to combat multidrug-resistant organisms. The present study was designed to synthesize novel 1-(pyridine-2yl)-1H-pyrazole-5-Carboxamide derivatives and to screen them for antibacterial activity. Methods: A simple, multistep procedure was used to synthesize novel 1-(pyridine-2yl)-1H-pyrazole-5-Carboxamide derivatives. They were characterized by LCMS and NMR. Their antibacterial activity was evaluated against four bacterial strains namely E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus cereus and Proteus mirabilis by agar well diffusion method. Ciprofloxacin was used as the reference standard. Results: Nine novel 1-(pyridine-2yl)-1H-pyrazole-5-Carboxamide derivatives (8a-8i) were synthesized by a cost-effective procedure. The yield of the compounds was good, ranging from 73% to 85%. Compounds 8b, 8h and 8i showed moderate activity against E coli, compound 8g against Bacillus...

Given their well-known lack of side effects in comparison to pharmaceuticals, natural materials with medical potential are rising in prominence in clinical research. Since the dawn of civilization, humans have relied on plants as a vital resource for healing. Medicines, health aids, pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, cosmetics and other similar items derived from plants are becoming more popular. In this article, the chemical components and pharmacological effects of Tinospora cordifolia are described. “Guduchi,” a popular name for the plant T. cordifolia, has a long history of use in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. T. cordifolia, most often known as guduchi, is a prominent medicinal plant found across the tropics. The therapeutic benefits of this method are well recognized internationally. The advantages it has for your diet are less well-known. Native Indians and other Indians have long included guduchi [T. cordifolia (Willd.) Hook. F. Thoms] in their diets. It is also recommended for use in Ayurvedic diets. Interest in the plant has surged recently due to the identification of active components from the...

Wounds are a severe health problem. The development of pharmaceutical dosage forms to ensure patient comfort and safety and optimize treatment effectiveness is of great interest to the pharmaceutical and biomaterials industries. Tridax procumbens (T. procumbens) leaf is a medicinal herb used for treating wounds since ancient times. In this work, a biomaterial film was developed by using PVA with T. procumbens leaf extract via solvent casting method to produce effective wound healing material. According to the hemolytic investigation, films made from T. procumbens leaf extract films were biocompatible. Using L929 mouse fibroblast cells, the cytotoxicity of films was examined using the MTT assay, and the same cell line was also used for a migration assay using the scratch test. The results of the in-vitro wound healing test showed that films containing 12.5 ml T. procumbens dried leaf extract are efficient in reducing the scratch open area, provoking nearly complete closure of the scratches (94%) within 24 hr without cytotoxicity. The 12.5 ml incorporated film demonstrated better wound healing...
