Peptic ulcer is an excavation of mucosa and may extend to the submucosal layer. The bacterium Helicobacter pylori is regarded as the most common cause of infection. Long-term use of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory disease drugs) like Aspirin, Diclofenac, and Naproxen and stress were also regarded as causes of ulceration. Ancient technology of synthesizing and utilizing plant-based medicine is known from time immemorial. Chronic and complicated diseases have been cured with plant-based products. Considering their importance in manufacturing new medicines, their efficacy and safety have become a major concern. This literature review reviews some investigated plants that have shown promising results in mitigating peptic ulcers at different doses. Preliminary phytochemical screening of these herbs has shown the presence of important secondary metabolites like flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins which are responsible for the anti-ulcer activity. Acute toxicity studies have proved the safety of the selected plant extracts. This article reviews the overall active constituents, anti-ulcer, gastro protective activity of some medicinal plants investigated between...

Micronutrients are essential nutritional elements that assist the body in synthesizing enzymes, coenzymes, prosthetic groups, hormones, and other compounds important for living beings’ progress and expansion. Trace elements are one of the important part of micronutrients. Trace elements have an important impact on human health and have a wide range of metabolic properties and performance, although these elements constitute a small part of the biological tissues. Immune modulation by humoral and cellular mechanisms, nerve conduction, muscular contractions, membrane potential regulation and mitochondrial functioning and enzyme responses are just a few of the activities that trace elements perform in tissue, cellular and subcellular processes. In type 2 diabetes, selenium, chromium, zinc, calcium, magnesium, sodium, manganese, cobalt, iodine and iron levels appear to be low, iron and vanadium deficient, whereas potassium and copper levels remain unaffected. Numerous different micronutrients, such as zinc, iron, copper and selenium, are now required by the complicated, interconnected immune system that plays significant, often complementary roles at each and every stage of the immune response. This...

Any bodily harm, such as damage to the skin’s epidermis and disruption of its normal architecture and function, is referred to as a wound. The significance of wound healing has been known since ancient times. Several attempts have been made to design innovative wound dressings composed of the finest materials for speedy and successful wound healing. Medicinal herbs greatly aid the wound healing process. Many researchers have concentrated in recent decades on creating innovative wound dressings that combine medicinal plant extracts or their purified active components, which might be utilized instead of standard wound dressings. Several researchers have looked at the mechanisms of action of different herbal medicines in the wound healing process. This work aims to emphasize and examine the mechanical viewpoint of wound healing mediated by natural compounds. Some herbal medications stimulate re-epithelialization, angiogenesis, granulation tissue development, and collagen fiber deposition by increasing the production of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor (TGF-α). Other wound dressings containing herbal medicines decrease the production of tumour...

The present research aims to synthesize novel 5, 6-dihydro-3-(substituted phenyl) [1, 2, 4] triazolo (3, 4-b) [1, 3, 4] thiadiazine-7-one derivatives and their physiochemical evaluation for antibacterial and antioxidant activities. Novel synthetic schemes were designed to synthesize compounds (1-6), which were then characterized using physicochemical and spectroscopic methods (IR, 1HNMR). In-vitro antimicrobial activity was performed against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillius subtilis), Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacterial strains and fungal strains (Aspergilus niger, Candida albicans) of all synthesized compounds. In addition, Minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) and Minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC) values were determined using tube dilution methods using standards such as norfloxacin and fluconazole. The free radical scavenging activity was also assessed using the DPPH assay, with vitamin C serving as a reference molecule. Compound 3 was discovered to have the best antibacterial activity (IC50– 80.27) of all the compounds, while the rest compounds showed modest scavenging...

BioMarin Pharmaceutical is developing Vosoritide, a modified recombinant human C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) analogue for the treatment of achondroplasia. A gain-of-function mutation in the fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 gene (FGFR3), a negative regulator of bone growth, causes achondroplasia. Vosoritide works to restore chondrogenesis by attaching to the natriuretic peptide receptor B (NPR-B), which inhibits the hyperactive FGFR3 gene’s downstream signalling pathways. In August 2021, the European Union approved Vosoritide for the treatment of achondroplasia in children under the age of two whose epiphyses are not closed; the diagnosis of achondroplasia should be validated by genetic testing. In the United States, the medication is also undergoing regulatory assessment for the treatment of achondroplasia and clinical trials. Several countries are in the process of developing. The milestones in the development of vosoritide that led to this first approval for achondroplasia in children under the age of two whose epiphyses are not closed are summarized in this article. Vosoritide is a medication that was designed to treat achondroplasia and has shown...
