The Screening of medicinal plants for the new bioactive compounds leads to the development of new anti-microbial drugs that possess lesser cost and greater safety and efficacy. The increasing bacterial resistance exhibited by microorganisms causing skin infections has led to the research on medicinal plants. Argemone Mexicana Linn is a weed that shows multiple health benefits. All the parts of the plant are traditionally well known for the treatment of skin diseases. The aim of present study is to investigate and compare the anti-microbial activity of aqueous and ethanol extract of leaves of Argemone mexicana Linn against skin infection-causing bacteria. Also, Functional groups associated with phytochemical compounds of these plant extracts are well understood from FTIR Spectroscopy. The Argemone mexicana Linn leaves extract shows significant anti-microbial activity against all the selected microorganisms for study. The results for anti-microbial activity were recorded in zones of inhibitions. The highest zone of inhibition had shown by the ethanol extract at higher concentration, i.e., 300 mg/ml against all pathogens. The MIC values of...

Ticagrelor is a platelet aggregation inhibitor. It is used for the prevention of stroke, heart attack, and other events in people with the acute coronary syndrome, meaning problems with the blood supply in the coronary arteries. It acts as a platelet aggregation inhibitor by antagonising the P2Y 12 receptor. Its half-life is up to 12 h with the hepatic type of metabolism and biliary excretion. This review provides the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics of the Ticagrelor, which also includes the review on pharmaceutical analytical techniques like High-performance liquid chromatography, Reverse phase – High-performance liquid chromatography, Bio-analytical techniques, UV spectrometry with the impurities, pharmaceutical dosage forms, bulk, and its formulations used for determination and validation. This review helps us to get updated information on validation of drug-Ticagrelor till current...

The excavation for new delegates into the chemotherapeutic family and modernization of existing candidates are evergreen goals of cancer researchers. It is quite interesting to make out that the plant kingdom has gifted us with an array of anti-cancer compounds, reporting over 60% of the drugs today coming out from natural sources such as plants, marine organisms, and micro-organisms. With the evolution of modern analytical tools, the chemical composition of active principle in each of the plant parts is being elucidated, and more plants are being analyzed for their pharmacological application and nominated to the list of medicinal plants. Members of the Verbenaceae family, such as Clerodendrum infortunatum crowns in medicinal values tricked with a worthless treasure of phytochemical constituents, many of which remain mysterious. This paper reviews the different aspects of Clerodendrum infortunatum concerning its phytochemical constitution, traditional usage, and potential possibilities in the treatment and prevention of cancer. The source materials were browsed from Pubmed and Google by word search for Verbenaceae, Clerodendrum, Cancer, etc. Clerodendrum infortunatum,...

Three analytical methods were developed for the determination of selected fluoroquinolones in chicken meat by high performance liquid chromatographic technique. In each method, we took two fluoroquinolones (Danofloxacin and difloxacin; Ciprofloxacin and enrofloxacin; Ofloxacin and pefloxacin) research study. Rapid, simple and sensitive sample treatment procedures were developed and used to extract the fluoroquinolones from the chicken tissues with good recoveries. Extraction recovery from chicken tissues was in the range of 86.96 to 97.49 %, depending upon the analytes. The shape of the curves for all drugs was linear in the investigation concentration range 10-1000 ng/ml, and the correlation coefficient of the linearity curves for all drugs was in the range of 0.9707- 0.9991. The detection limits for fluoroquinolones in chicken tissues were well below the Maximum Residual Limits (MRLs) for antibiotics. The limit of detection (LOD) was in the range of 9-12 µg/kg, and the limit of quantification (LOQ) was in the range of 30-40 µg/kg for all analytes in chicken tissues. The separation results and parameters of the...

This study aimed to determine for taste masking & design of Oro dispersible tablet of an anticholinesterase agent (Donepezil HCl) to achieve the patient compliance. Oral dispersible tablet prepared by compression method. The Anticholinergic activity assure by evaluation, drug dissolution, stability testing and standardize the oral dispersible tablet. On the basis of the preformulating and formulation study, the batch 10-F009 formulation would maintain stability and potency throughout the study period. Complete drug release was observed at gastric pH. Taste masking and rapid disintegration of tablets formulated in this investigation may possibly help in the administration of Donepezil HCL in a more palatable form without water. Finally, this formulation with once-daily dose is convenient for patients with the Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia with good therapeutic activity and...
