TERATOGENICITY AND BACTERICIDAL ACTIVITY OF NANOSYNTHESIZED JUSTICIA ADHATODA IN THE EMBRYOS OF DANIO RERIO

In the present study, Justicia adhatoda was used for synthesizing AgNPs and characterized using UV-visible, FTIR, XRD, and SEM analysis and checked for its teratogenic effect and bactericidal activity. UV–Vis spectra analysis revealed that the synthesized AgNPs had a peak around 434 nm, while XRD and SEM analysis showed that AgNPs have spherical shapes with sizes ranging from 22 to 29 nm. Fourie...

COMPARATIVE SCREENING AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ANTIOSTEOPOROTIC ACTIVITY OF SESBANIA GRANDIFLORA (L) POIR CRUDE LEAF EXTRACT AND ITS NANOPARTICLE FORMULATION ON SAOS-2 CELL LINES

Increasing severity of the disease osteoporosis in postmenopausal women with long term exposure to pharmacotherapy has spurred interest in the development of using food as medicine and phyto-pharmacotherapy. We examined the effect of n-hexane crude leaves extract and its nanoparticle formulation of Sesbania grandiflora in cell proliferation and bone mineralization at different concentrations in Sa...

UNRAVELING THE MYSTERY OF AUTISM

The scope for patients suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder today is far brighter than what it was a century ago. A few of these individuals, after great efforts, can read, write and communicate reasonably well while living in their homes rather than support institutions. Nevertheless, a large segment of adults suffering from Autism cannot work full-time to earn their livelihood. To add to the ...

SOLID DISPERSION EXTENDED-RELEASE SYSTEM: A REVIEW

Solid dispersion extended-release system involves amorphization of drug material that leads to creating an alternative pathway for poorly water-soluble drugs. The drug increases solubility due to an increase in apparent solubility of the particular drug. Crystalline lattices of the drug are disturbed during its manufacture, which minimizes the crystal packing energy for solubilization. Along with ...

PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF CINNAMOMUM ZEYLANICUM BARK AGAINST ACETAMINOPHEN INDUCED HEPATOTOXICITY IN ALBINO RATS

The objective of the current study is to investigate the hepatoprotective activity of Cinnamomum zeylanicum bark (CZB) extract on acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity in albino rats. Wistar albino rats (150-200 g) of either sex were divided into six groups, and toxicity was induced by acetaminophen (APAP) at a dose of 750 mg/kg, bw, p.o, every 72 h, for two weeks. Silymarin (100 mg/kg, p.o) was gi...

RECENT ADVANCEMENT OF CARBAZOLE HYBRID: A PRIVILEGED SCAFFOLD IN NEW DRUG DISCOVERY

Carbazole comprises an important class of heterocycles. Carbazole is a tricyclic molecule having a coal tar carbon backbone. Also, it has the structural properties of numerous compounds used in electronics for manufacturing polymers or dyes and electroluminescent materials, owing to its luminous quality. It has been reported that diverse biological activities include anti-cytotoxicity, bacteria-re...

EXPRESSION PATTERN OF BETA DEFENSIN-3 IN THE SMALL INTESTINE OF ZEBRA FISH DANIO RERIO

The vertebrate immune system is composed of numerous distinct and interdependent components, and it consists of both systemic and mucosal immune compartments, but the mucosal immune system which protects the body from the first encounter of pathogens. β-defensins are a group of cysteine-rich cationic antimicrobial peptides that play an antimicrobial roles in the immune systems of vertebrates. Ver...

RADIOTHERAPY AGAINST SARS-COV-2: RISK OR BENEFIT

The noble coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 results in a devastating, multisystem disease among which COVID-19 pneumonia creates serious complications and most of COVID-19 related deaths. COVID-19 patients develop a systemic inflammatory response through interleukin (IL) and tumor necrosis factors. In COVID-19 patients, cytokine storm controlling is the key step for treatment because cytokine attacks own bod...

A STUDY ON SERUM UREA AND CREATININE IN DIAGNOSED CASES OF SUBCLINICAL HYPOTHYROIDISM

Hypothyroidism is a progressive disorder characterized by varying degrees of thyroid failure, metabolic consequences, and hemodynamic changes that decrease renal plasma flow and glomerular filtration rate, increasing serum creatinine level. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate and analyse the level of serum urea, creatinine and thyroid function tests in cases of subclinical hypothyroidis...
