SYNTHESIS AND SPECTROSCOPIC CHARACTERISATION OF Cr(III) COMPLEXES DERIVED FROM 2-BENZOYLPYRIDINE AND 2-BENZOYLTHIOPHENE WITH THIOSEMICARBAZONE AND SEMICARBAZONE

The complexes of chromium(III) are synthesised with thiosemicarbazone (L1&L3) and semicarbazone (L2) derived from 2-benzoylpyridine and 2-benzoylthiophene having general composition [CrL2X2]X (Where L=L1&L3(L1&L3= thiosemicarbazone ligand and L2= semicarbazone ligand) and X= NO3- and OAc-) have been synthesised. The complexes and ligand under study are characterised by elemental analys...

ANTICOCCIDIAL AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF GASTRO’IMMUNE -POLYHERBAL FORMULATION ON COCCI OOCYSTS INFECTED MICE JEJUNUM

Herbal drugs are prescribed widely as an anti-coccidial agent even when their biologically active compounds are unknown, because of their effectiveness, lesser side effects, and relatively low cost. So, in the current study, a poly-herbal formulation was used to find out its effect as an anti-coccidial effect. In the present study, the parameters evaluated were the WBC count, Glutathione levels, m...

ACCURACY OF STANDARDS IN CHOLESTROL DIAGNOSTIC KITS

The percentage error observed in the claimed standard concentration of cholesterol 200 mg/dl for kits A to D is found to be 0.6, 12.3, 8.96 and 3.76 respectively. As per the guidelines of CLIA 8 allowable error is +10% for cholesterol estimation. Similarly as per the NCEP 9 guidelines + 9 % error is allowable. Therefore, it is noted that kit A is the best kit with an error of just 0.6% followed by...

ISOLATION, IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTIFICATION OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM AMARANTHUS HYPOCHONDRIACUS LEAF EXTRACT: A VITAL SOURCE OF POTENT NATURAL ANTIOXIDANTS

In this study we aimed at isolation, identification, and quantification of two phenolic compounds reported for the first time in leaves of Amaranthus hypochondriacus. A non targeted GC-MS metabolite profiling of hexane extracts of amaranth leaves was done which indicated the presence of major phenolic compounds. Two alkylated phenols namely 2,4-di-tert-butyl phenol (A) and 3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-h...
